Human Intelligence Tasks (HITs) are small, simple tasks performed online, often by crowdsourced workers. Data Annotation Specialists focus on labeling data for AI training, requiring specific tools and sometimes certifications. While both roles involve online work and contribute to AI development, HITs are more general micro-tasks, whereas Data Annotation Specialists perform specialized, detailed data labeling.

What is the easiest AI job to get?

Human Intelligence Tasks (HITs) are simple micro-jobs on platforms like Amazon Mechanical Turk that often require minimal skills and training. These tasks typically involve data labeling, image categorization, or surveys, making them accessible for beginners without specialized experience.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Human Intelligence Task worker, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Human Intelligence Task worker, you need strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to follow complex instructions, often without formal qualifications required. Familiarity with web-based platforms like Amazon Mechanical Turk or Appen, and sometimes understanding of basic data annotation tools, is beneficial. Reliability, time management, and clear written communication are standout soft skills in this role. These skills ensure high-quality, accurate task completion, which is crucial for supporting data-driven projects and research.

Which 5 jobs will survive AI?

Human Intelligence Tasks often involve jobs that require complex judgment, creativity, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal skills, such as healthcare professionals, educators, creative writers, therapists, and skilled tradespeople. These roles rely on human empathy, critical thinking, and adaptability, making them less susceptible to automation. While AI can assist in these fields, the core human element remains essential for their effective performance.

What are human intelligence tasks?

Human Intelligence Tasks (HITs) are small, discrete tasks performed by humans to help train or improve machine learning algorithms. These tasks often include data labeling, image recognition, transcription, or content moderation and are typically completed through online platforms that connect workers with requesters. HITs require attention to detail and basic computer skills and are commonly used in crowdsourcing environments.

What are Human Intelligence Tasks (HITs)?

Human Intelligence Tasks, commonly referred to as HITs, are small, discrete jobs or assignments that require human judgment and intelligence to complete. These tasks are often posted on platforms like Amazon Mechanical Turk and can include things like identifying objects in images, transcribing audio recordings, categorizing content, or answering surveys. HITs are designed to be tasks that computers or automated systems cannot perform accurately, so they rely on human workers to provide the necessary insight and decision-making. Workers are usually paid a small amount for each completed HIT, and they can choose which tasks to accept based on their interests and qualifications.

What are some common challenges faced by individuals working on Human Intelligence Tasks (HITs) and how can they be managed?

Professionals completing Human Intelligence Tasks, such as those on platforms like Amazon Mechanical Turk, often face challenges including repetitive work, unclear task instructions, and variable compensation. To manage these, it's important to carefully review instructions before starting each HIT, use community forums to share experiences and clarify ambiguities, and select tasks from reputable requesters known for fair payment and clear expectations. Maintaining focus through regular breaks and organizing your workflow can also help mitigate fatigue and improve overall efficiency.

Job description

As a Competitive Intelligence Specialist you will operate at the intersection of AI-powered workflows, strategic research, and sales enablement. This is not a traditional CI role. We are building something different: a program where intelligence is systematically generated, continuously updated, and deeply embedded into how our go-to-market teams sell and compete every day.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Market Intelligence, you will own and evolve our Win/Loss program, build AI-assisted research and analysis workflows using Claude and other tools, and serve as a key resource for Sales and Marketing as they navigate competitive situations. You are organized, relentlessly curious, and driven by a high bar for execution quality. You thrive when managing multiple workstreams simultaneously and take pride in delivering outputs that are both rigorous and immediately usable.

The CI function at SentinelOne is at an inflection point. We are investing in AI-native workflows, expanding into analyst relations, and building a program infrastructure that does not yet exist in full. This role has real scope to shape how competitive intelligence works here, not just execute against a predefined playbook. If you want ownership, a team that takes the work seriously, and the latitude to build, this is the role.

What Will You Do?

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Manage our Win/Loss program in partnership with a third-party interview vendor, owning the overall program cadence, scope, and quality of deal coverage across Endpoint, Identity, and MDR segments.
  • Analyze and synthesize interview findings from the vendor into clear competitive themes, patterns, and deal-level insights, going beyond data delivery to surface the "so what" for the business.
  • Translate Win/Loss themes into sales plays in close partnership with the Sales Enablement team, ensuring insights drive concrete changes in how sellers handle objections, position against competitors, and navigate common deal scenarios.
  • Deliver regular Win/Loss reporting to Sales leadership, Product, and Marketing, with clear trend analysis and competitive exposure signals that inform both tactical and strategic decisions.
  • Build and maintain AI-assisted research and analysis workflows using Claude and other tools, reducing the manual lift of competitive monitoring and insight generation.
  • Develop reusable prompt frameworks for tasks such as competitor webpage differentiation analysis, product announcement summarization, and battlecard content generation.
  • Document and iterate on workflow templates so that CI outputs are scalable, repeatable, and available to cross-functional teams without requiring significant analyst time.
  • Stay current on AI tooling relevant to competitive intelligence and proactively surface workflow improvements to the team.
  • Own battlecard development as a core deliverable, maintaining a library that is current, accurate, and structured for how sellers actually use them in the field. This includes knowing when to update, when to rebuild, and how to translate positioning into language that lands in a live conversation.
  • Act as a real-time competitive resource for Sales and Sales Engineering during active deals, providing fast, high-quality analysis on demand.
  • Deliver competitive training and enablement sessions, keeping field teams sharp on the evolving landscape.
  • Serve as the human in the loop for AI-assisted content development. You will use Claude and other tools to accelerate first drafts, research synthesis, and content updates, but you own the editorial judgment: what goes in, what gets cut, and whether the output is actually ready for the field.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape across key vendors, tracking product releases, pricing shifts, messaging changes, and go-to-market movements.
  • Synthesize signals from multiple sources, including analyst reports, earnings calls, social channels, customer conversations, and industry events, into clear, prioritized intelligence.
  • Contribute to and maintain a centralized intelligence repository that is accurate, accessible, and structured for reuse.
  • Partner with Product Marketing to align competitive positioning with broader messaging and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to surface competitive gaps and inform roadmap conversations.
  • Work across Marketing, Channel, and Partner teams to ensure competitive intelligence is embedded in external-facing programs where applicable.
What Skills and Knowledge Will You Bring?ย

Ideal candidates will have:

  • 2+ years of experience in competitive intelligence, product marketing, strategy, or a related field, preferably within cybersecurity or enterprise SaaS.
  • Experience with or genuine interest in building a Win/Loss program. You do not need to have owned one before, but you should be able to articulate how you would approach turning raw interview data into field-ready sales plays.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar) to accelerate research, synthesize information, and create structured outputs. You are not intimidated by prompt engineering and have a point of view on how to use these tools well.
  • Strong project management skills. You can run multiple concurrent workstreams, maintain quality, and consistently hit deadlines without sacrificing depth.
  • Exceptional written communication skills. Your deliverables are clear, concise, and structured for the audience. You know the difference between a Slack message, a battlecard, and a leadership briefing.
  • A natural sense of curiosity. You notice things others miss, ask the second and third follow-up question, and treat competitive intelligence as a discipline, not a task list.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and earn trust with Sales, Product, and Marketing stakeholders through the quality of your work and responsiveness.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity. Not every question has a clean answer. You know how to frame incomplete information clearly and flag what is known versus inferred.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts (EDR, XDR, MDR, identity security) is a plus, but not required. An aptitude to learn the domain quickly is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent professional experience.
