Job Title: Part-Time HR Generalist Job Type: Part-Time
Department: Human Resources Reports To: Director of Human Resources
FLSA Status: Hourly
Location: California-Onsite in either Hayward, San Carlos
Candidates must reside in California, no relocation available for this role.

Chilton Autobody offers customers a range of collision repair services, including paint and refinish, aluminum welding, bumper repair, ADAS diagnostics, structural damage repair, among others. Chilton is committed to its ever-expanding OEM certifications and is actively leading the industry in Electric Vehicle (EV) repair competency.
Position Summary
The part-time HR Generalist provides field-based administrative and operational support across core HR functions. Working a hybrid schedule of three (3) days per week, this role focuses on the execution of specific transactional tasks, routine record-keeping, and handling first-line employee inquiries during scheduled hours, while collaborating closely with the HR Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support HR day-to-day operations and other duties as assigned.
  • Execute core HR process consistently, including training, compliance and communication of key programs
  • Serve as HR contact for staff, management; address workplace issues and support with ongoing projects.
  • Support and help manage employee relation matters and maintain documentation.
  • Supports recruitment and development for all personnel
  • Managing Onboarding/ Offboarding process for all personnel
  • Oversee administration of all employee benefits programs, including health insurance, dental, vision, disability, FSA/HSA, life insurance, and 401(k) plans.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, and ADA).
  • Manage all leave of absence and works comp administration claims
  • and partnering with Loc Managers/ Operations ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.
  • Support annual audits by providing requested documentation.
  • Maintaining physical and digital files for employees (personnel files, benefits, etc.)
  • Assist with 1099 preparation and reporting.
  • Maintain confidentiality when dealing with employee-related issues and information.

Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of HR Business Partner or Generalist experience in a multi-site, field-based environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business or related field.
  • Valid Driver's license and ability to travel 45% of the time.
  • Solid employee relations experience including investigations and disciplinary actions
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to connect people's decisions to performance outcomes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Able to maintain high-volume workload efficiently and timely.
  • Able to execute several tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to demonstrate discretion and independent judgment when making decisions.

Experience
  • Experience with HRIS systems.
  • Multi-location or high-volume workflow experience is a plus.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

  • 45% Travel.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are required.

Compensation Details: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Compensation is commensurate with skill, education and experience.
