Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking a Human Factors Engineer - Level 2 to join our team in Chandler, AZ. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.
The Human Factors Engineer will support the design, development, and evaluation of launch vehicles, ground support equipment, and mission operations for rocket systems.
This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.
In this job, you will:
  • Apply human factors, ergonomics, and cognitive engineering principles to launch control center interfaces, vehicle HMIs, ground systems, and maintenance/turnaround operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and error-tolerant human-system performance
  • Conduct task analyses and workload assessments for launch and flight controllers, range safety personnel, and pad technicians; participate in the design and evaluation of control rooms, consoles, displays, procedures, and checklists; and plan and execute human-in-the-loop simulations and usability evaluations
  • Contribute to safety and hazard analyses, produce clear technical documentation and recommendations, and collaborate closely with systems engineering, GNC, avionics, ground systems, and operations teams, leveraging relevant aerospace human factors and NASA/MIL-STD guidelines to support successful launch and mission outcomes

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with 2 years of related experience - OR - Master's degree with 0 years experience.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance which typically requires U.S. Citizenship
  • Experience using simulation software such as Siemens Process Simulate

Preferred Qualifications:
  • BS in Human Factors, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
  • Active U.S. security clearance of secret or higher
  • Aerospace and Defense experience

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
