Child Development Teacher | Teacher Assistant

Locations: Lee County & Russell County, Alabama

Organization: Alabama Council on Human Relations (ACHR)

Thank you for your interest in joining ACHR. Our Child Development program includes Head Start, serving 250 children ages 3-5yo, and Early Head Start, serving 160 children from Expected Parents through age 3. Our teachers play a vital role in shaping young minds and preparing children for long-term academic success. Responsible for providing developmentally appropriate care and education to infants and toddlers age 0-3 years in a classroom setting, focusing on fostering their social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and language skills through engaging activities, routines, and interactions, while also actively communicating and collaborating with families to support their child's overall development.

    • Teacher II: Associate’s degree in Early Child Development Infant/Toddler or comparable credential associated with Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work

Responsible for creating a nurturing classroom environment where they implement developmentally appropriate curriculum to promote the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of young children ages 3-5 years, while actively engaging with families and fostering strong parent partnerships to support their child's learning journey within the Head Start program guidelines.
