Job description

POSITION DESCRIPTION
This position is located onsite in Layton, Utah.
The Application Engineer's primary responsibility is to support the advancement of the Operations group through process automation and integration. The incumbent uses their experience of current Janicki Industries processes, products, software and interaction between department stakeholders to develop and maintain applications/processes and provide training.
The following essential job functions are performed as an Application Engineer:
  • Develop applications that effectively accomplish company objectives and user needs
  • Design and write code for applications
  • Analyze and edit existing computer applications to improve functionality
  • Remodel and adapt applications as needed to optimize performance
  • Test applications extensively to ensure they are error and bug free
  • Act as a technical advisor to all departments
  • Collaborate with engineering and NC programming departments
  • Creates training manuals and provides training to users
  • Works closely with project teams to realize group goals through software solutions
  • Works directly with the project teams to determine detailed requirements and deliverables, communicates or presents to team on project status or health
  • Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines
  • Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related engineering field is required
  • 6+ years of experience in a machine shop environment, including CAM operations, is required
  • Experience with SAP ERP software is advantageous
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software is required
  • Experience with CATIA and NX or equivalent CAD software is required
  • Experience programming applications in NX Open is highly preferred
  • Experience in developing and maintaining CAD/CAM post-processors is highly preferred
  • Experience in Vericut simulation development is highly preferred
  • Experience working with composites, in a lean manufacturing environment or working with complex aircraft assemblies is advantageous
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in the English language
  • Must be willing and able to obtain a government-issued security clearance.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • Wage range for this role is between $83,000 - $148,000 an hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki's estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
