What are the main responsibilities of a HUET Instructor on a typical training day?

A HUET Instructor is responsible for delivering theoretical and practical training sessions that prepare offshore personnel for helicopter emergencies over water. This includes conducting safety briefings, supervising underwater escape exercises, demonstrating proper use of survival equipment, and evaluating participant performance. Instructors also maintain training facilities, ensure all safety protocols are strictly followed, and collaborate with other safety professionals to update training content as regulations evolve. You'll regularly interact with participants from various backgrounds, requiring adaptability and a focus on clear, supportive communication. The role is hands-on, dynamic, and offers opportunities for career growth into senior training or safety management positions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Huet position, and why are they important?
