Job Overview: Childcare Worker
The Childcare Worker provides safe, structured child care for special events at Trace Church. Some common responsibilities include setting up classrooms, arriving on time to pre-event meetings, communicating with parents and kids during drop off and pick up, engaging with kids in the classroom, playing games and crafts during events, and at times implementing a Christ-focused lesson.
Core Responsibilities
Childcare Worker
- Arrives on time to pre-event meeting (“huddle”)
- Works event for the whole time
- Helps set up and clean up classroom
- Communicate with other workers in the classroom and with the childcare lead and director
- Teaches, engages and provides safe and effective environment for kids to feel safe, loved and learn about Jesus
- Follows all safety guidelines and best practices as trained
Qualifications, some required some preferred
- Attends Trace Church and is actively participating in worship at least once a month
- Clear background check
- At least 14 years or older
- Experience with kids and has a passion for caring, supporting and teaching kids about Jesus
- References that speak to character and skill related to working with children
Employment Details
- Position Title: Childcare Worker
- Reports To: Early Childhood Director
- Employment Type: Hourly
- Compensation: $18 per hour for 18 and younger and $20 per hour for over 18
- Working Hours: Special events as needed, 4-20 hours per month
