Job description

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assists builders in maintaining/managing multiple construction sites in multiple locations and may from time to time be required to perform punch list on new homes.
  2. Conducts regular inspections of sites.
  3. Manages job sites cost effectively and accurately.
  4. Orders and schedules materials in conjunction with assigned builder and as needed.
  5. Maintains safe jobsites and enforces Hubbell Homes’ safety program. Additionally, responsible for maintaining EPA practices.
  6. Assures homes are completed on schedule and signed off as being 100% acceptable to the Warranty Department.
  7. Works with the warranty team to ensure the timely completion of warranty/service issues.
  8. Attends and participates in production team meetings and other meetings as required.

Performs site analysis.

  • Determines lot type: Walkout, Daylight, Full dig
  • Locates and marks lot utilities
  • Installs Hubbell Homes signage

Home starts - assists field manager with home starts.

  • Confirm that temp electrical pole has been installed
  • Confirm silt fence has been installed

Site management.

  • Maintains site/development cleanliness
  • Maintains site/development erosion controls and drainage
  • Monitors dumpster and site utilities

Carpentry

  • Assist builder with multiple carpentry/construction tasks
  • Assist builder with completion of quality/orientation walk

Perform other tasks as assigned.

Special Requirements

  • Two years’ minimum experience in residential construction.
  • You must possess a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and the ability to climb in and out of vehicle dozens of times per day.
  • Physical Requirements: Extensive mobility and excellent physical condition. The ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. to include but not limited lifting and carrying ice-melt from ground to truck bed height on occasion, and shovel snow frequently during the winter. When lifts exceed 50 lbs., other personnel must be contacted to aid and/or use of lifting equipment such as a hand truck, dolly, hoist or lifting straps will be required. Constant ability to walk on even/uneven terrain, stand in one position for long periods of time, kneel, bend, crouch, climb stairs and ladders, crawl, etc. to reach items in need of repair. Occasionally lift and hold 20 pounds overhead for extended periods of time. Must be comfortable on ladders and lift to 30 feet. Tolerance to all extremes of hot and cold weather (below 0 and above 100 degrees) frequently for extended periods of time. Ability to operate all necessary hand tools to make repairs. Ability to drive to and from job sites.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills required.
  • Must be a team player with good interpersonal skills.
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter.
  • The ability to set priorities yet remains flexible and takes on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively in an office environment with a working knowledge of computer systems to accurately document work performed on a computer.
  • Must be able to manage time effectively, set priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Demonstrates a can-do attitude, the ability to think on his/her feet, and ability to initiate and implement innovative solutions to daily challenges
  • Ability to perform manual labor as needed such as loading and unloading materials (windows, doors, etc.)
  • Must possess construction skills—framing, trim work, concrete finish, drywall repairs
  • Must be able to operate a skid loader, including auger, planar and street broom.
  • Must always remain alert.
