Job description

Responsible for the transportation, inventory control and distribution of product, parts and equipment to/from the GBU distribution centers and to our customers for a designated region. Emphasis is on cost-effective utilization of the drivers and trucks. Manages activities of those engaged in the movement of product and scheduling activities.

Position Responsibilities may include;

  • Ensures the on-time delivery of product to/from the distribution centers and to the customers.
  • Ensures efficient warehousing with timely movement of product. 
  • Extracts data and generates reports that assist in performance tracking and decision making.
  • Develops and monitors product handling program, space efficiency, labor efficiency and first-in-first-out movement whenever possible.
  • Ensures proper execution and accurate documentation of order filling, transporting and delivery/receiving.
  • Responsible for implementation and effective utilization of system(s) that will ensure that all product within the warehouse and/or entering or leaving the warehouse is accurately identified, distributed or delivered, and properly stored in designated locations.
  • Provides input to the accounting, production and scheduling departments to support financial reports, period forecasts, scheduling, and annual business plan preparation.
  • Develops and ensures department policies are being applied accurately and consistently and supports the Company policies and procedures / assures the consistent application of Company policies.
  • Trains and supervises employees to carry out the functions under their control.
  • Utilizes the most reliable, least expensive delivery services possible.
  • Oversees receiving, issues documentation and resolves discrepancies by interfacing with distribution centers and/or Logistics Department at the Daikin Texas Technology Park.
  • Generates reports based on data accumulated through the SAP system.
  • Must continually work to promote the orderliness and cleanliness of their work area and other company standards
  • Identifies value-creation opportunities for the company in the movement and distribution of the product.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

  • Good understanding of business principles and practices; can effectively manage the materials function with a bottom line result.

Experience:

  • 6+ years working in a multi-site distribution center
  • 2+ years’ field logistics experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, preferred.

Salary -

  • $90,000.00 to 112,000.00
