Position Announcement
The Language Hub in the Department of Languages and Cultures is seeking highly motivated self-starters with experience in audiovisual production. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled. Make sure to include all required documents listed below, as incomplete applications will not be considered.
Summary of Responsibilities
  • Assist the Language Hub manager in developing, executing, promoting, and maintaining various projects to enhance and carry out the Hub's vision and mission.
  • Assist with daily operations, which may include the following: assisting students, faculty, and tutors; opening/closing; answering phone/email; organizing learning materials; scheduling; light cleaning and general upkeep.
  • Provide training, orientation, and assistance to students and faculty in creating a variety of audiovisual projects.
  • Create, maintain, and organize tutorial guides, reports, promotional and marketing materials.
  • Assist in hosting events in the Language Hub.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
  • Must be a current UVU student registered for a minimum of 6.0 credits.
  • Available to work 15-20 hours per week, during normal business hours (9:00 am - 5:00 pm) and some evening hours, to be determined.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with content creation, social media management, and podcasting.
  • Native or near-native proficiency in ASL, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, or other language.
  • General understanding of second-language acquisition
  • Experience in event planning.

  • For candidates in video production, experience with camera operation, lighting, sound design, and editing (.
  • General computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, etc.).
