Job Description:
Summary
The Mechanic Trainee is an entry level role that operates in learning first mode. This role will work alongside a mentor to develop the skills and understanding needed to safely and efficiently maintain and repair ProPetro frac equipment. This person will spend time learning the basic functions of each maintenance group.
Responsibilities
  • Works alongside mentor, maintenance personnel, and Learning and Development Team to gain proficiency in the common Maintenance tasks under frequent supervision.
  • Works in learning mode, with a mentor or leveled technicians.
  • This employee must be accompanied and monitored if attending field operation sites.
  • Consistently participate in the skills management program, level assessments, and mentorship initiatives.
  • Works to complete hands-on skill evaluations and developmental competencies to promote to Shop Mechanic 1.
  • Capable of performing general housekeeping and routine maintenance of Company property.
  • Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilizing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe driving practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school education or equivalent, required; technical or associate's degree, preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and record work in English.
  • Maintaining a current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record, required.
  • Must be physically capable of performing job functions.
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills, preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and able to quickly learn work related software (i.e., Microsoft Office 365 applications, Power Bi, etc.).
  • Personable, reliable, with a good attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Available to work a 14/7 shift, can safely perform required duties during a 12+ hour workday that will include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
