The HSE Coordinator supports the development, implementation, and continual improvement of health, safety, and environmental programs at the facility. This position works directly with the HSE Manager, employees, supervisors, contractors, maintenance, and site leadership to identify hazards, reduce risk, maintain regulatory compliance, and strengthen accountability for HSE performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine workplace inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.

  • Identify unsafe conditions and work practices, recommend corrective actions, and track them through completion.

  • Assist with developing and updating JSAs, risk assessments, procedures, and HSE programs.

  • Support lockout/tagout, machine guarding, PPE, Hazard Communication, electrical safety, emergency response, ergonomics, and contractor safety programs.

  • Conduct approved HSE training and maintain training records.

  • Assist with incident, injury, near-miss, spill, and property-damage investigations.

  • Collect statements, photographs, and other investigation information.

  • Support root-cause analysis and corrective-action follow-up.

  • Maintain incident records, inspection reports, corrective-action logs, and other HSE documentation.

  • Assist with ergonomic and industrial-hygiene assessments using approved methods.

  • Inspect hazardous-waste areas, chemical-storage locations, and spill-control equipment.

  • Support environmental programs involving hazardous waste, stormwater, wastewater, air emissions, chemical management, spill prevention, and Tier II reporting.

  • Collect and organize data used for environmental reports and regulatory submissions.

  • Maintain chemical inventories, Safety Data Sheets, and labeling records.

  • Support emergency drills, equipment inspections, and follow-up activities.

  • Verify contractor HSE training, certifications, and required documentation.

  • Participate in safety meetings, employee-engagement activities, and HSE improvement projects.

  • Prepare reports, presentations, procedures, and employee communications.

  • Immediately report serious hazards and stop work when an immediate danger is identified.

  • Perform other HSE-related duties assigned by the HSE Manager.

Requirements:

  • One to three years of relevant HSE, environmental, manufacturing, maintenance, or operational experience preferred.

  • Basic working knowledge of occupational safety and environmental compliance

  • Familiarity with hazard recognition, JSAs, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, PPE, Hazard Communication, incident investigation, and corrective-action tracking

  • Familiarity with hazardous waste, stormwater, air emissions, spill prevention, chemical management, and Tier II reporting

  • Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment and communicate with employees, supervisors, contractors, and leadership.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organization, accuracy, time management, and follow-through.

  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and electronic recordkeeping systems.

  • Ability to complete assigned work independently and recognize when an issue requires escalation

  • OSHA General Industry training and First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred.

  • Ability to work in production and exterior areas, walk or stand for extended periods, and wear required PPE.
