Director FP&A Corporate Functions
Location: Chicago, IL
Position Summary:
Lead financial topics and strategic projects for the Global FP&A organization, as well as provide cross-functional financial support for Global Technology, Human Resources, Procurement, Supply Chain, Legal, functions and Research & Development, and global coordination of the Annual Planning process.
Responsible for the following areas:
Performance management, financial planning & analysis, compliance, and financial oversight across Global Technology, Human Resources, Procurement and Supply Chain, Research & Development, and Legal functions, as well as global alignment of company-wide financial planning and strategy.
Goals:
  • Team Leadership: Develop and lead the FP&A team fostering collaboration, high performance, and professional growth.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a strategic partner to Global Technology, HR, Procurement, Supply Chain, R&D and Legal leadership teams, driving alignment and supporting key initiatives.
  • Strategic Alignment: Ensure financial plans across all supported functions align with corporate and business objectives, enabling long-term growth and value creation.
  • Budget Management & Cost Optimization: Monitor and control Opex and Capex budgets while identifying opportunities for cost savings across functions.
  • Performance Metrics & Reporting: Define, track, and report KPIs for each function, providing actionable insights to leadership and driving accountability.
  • Global Annual Planning: Lead and coordinate the company-wide Annual Planning process, ensuring consistent, accurate, and collaborative financial planning across regions and functions.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure adherence to US GAAP standards, internal controls, and company policies to maintain audit readiness and mitigate financial risks.
Responsibilities:
  • Be an influential and valuable partner to functional leaders (ADM Chief Digital & Information Officer, Chief HR Officer, Chief Legal Officer, Chief Procurement Officer, Chief Science Officer, etc.) and their global teams for financial planning activities, performance metrics, and US GAAP compliance.
  • Management responsibility towards FP&A team members across supported functions
  • Act as a key point of contact for Corporate Strategy, Corporate FP&A, BU Finance Directors, and functional leaders across Global Technology, HR, Procurement and Supply Chain, R&D, and Legal.
  • Work with leadership teams across all supported functions to prepare and deliver long-range and annual financial plans, aligned with all BUs.
  • Partner with leaders and finance organization to support key initiatives and drive actions that improve performance across Global Technology, HR, Procurement, and Supply Chain, R&D and Legal.
  • Play an integral role in the prioritization of capital and resource investments to ensure alignment with strategic priorities across Global Technology, HR, Procurement and Supply Chain, Legal functions, and R&D.
  • Define, track, and measure performance metrics across all supported functions, advising leadership and management on actions necessary to deliver financial objectives.
  • Provide financial oversight for HR initiatives, including workforce planning, compensation strategy, and employee-related costs.
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Supply Chain teams to deliver financial guidance on vendor negotiations, cost optimization, inventory management, and logistics.
  • Support the Legal department in budget management, cost forecasting, and analysis of legal expenses, ensuring compliance and cost efficiency.
  • Identify and drive process improvements, such as creation of tools to support global transparency and build alignment across global teams in planning and performance metrics management.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in science, business, or finance required. MBA and/or further finance or business management qualifications preferred.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in a similar finance or strategic planning-related position, preferably in Corporate Finance FP&A.
  • Experience providing financial support across multiple functional areas (Global Technology, HR, Procurement and Supply Chain, R&D, Legal) is strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing and leading global FP&A teams.
  • Must be curious and comfortable with technical, and cross-functional and scientific content.
  • Preferably prior experience working with executive leadership or in strategic planning roles.
  • Competencies
  • Strong leadership skills and proven ability to lead teams of multiple FP&A team members
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as ability to work with various levels of office and functional staff; ability to present with impact and articulate concepts clearly and succinctly.
  • Well-organized, detail-, results-, and continuous improvement-oriented; ability to drive initiatives and lead changes efficiently in a complex environment.
  • Ability to prioritize, work in a fast-paced environment with multiple, changing, and competing priorities, and often tight deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, attention to detail for full accuracy.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint) and in ADM Finance processes and reporting tools like HFM, PowerBi, LaunchPoint, and Wave.
  • Ability to travel as necessary.
  • Fluent English.
