Pay Range: $29-$32 / hour
Full-Time, Onsite
Temp-to-Hire

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM 

We are actively seeking an HR & Payroll Assistant to join a growing organization where accuracy, responsiveness, and employee support are at the center of daily operations. In this highly visible role, you'll contribute to both payroll and Human Resources functions, helping ensure employees are paid accurately, onboarded smoothly, and supported throughout their employment journey.

What You'll Do
  • Support weekly payroll activities with a strong focus on accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality.
  • Assist with payroll tax submissions, retirement contributions, deductions, and related administrative processes.
  • Process garnishments, employment documentation, and payroll-related recordkeeping requirements.
  • Review and reconcile benefits invoices while assisting with employee benefit administration.
  • Monitor employee leave programs, maintain supporting documentation, and ensure accurate tracking.
  • Coordinate employment verification requests and maintain organized personnel records.
  • Track I-9 documentation, assist with compliance initiatives, and monitor important deadlines.
  • Help onboard new employees by coordinating paperwork, system updates, and orientation activities.
  • Prepare offer letters, schedule interviews, and provide administrative support throughout the hiring process.
  • Support HR projects, maintain employee files, and deliver responsive administrative assistance to the Human Resources department.
To Be Successful in This Role, You'll Bring:
  • 1+ years of combined Human Resources and payroll experience required.
  • Recent experience supporting payroll processing, payroll deductions, employee records, and related administrative functions.
  • Knowledge of HR best practices involving onboarding, benefits administration, compliance documentation, and employee records management.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive payroll and employee information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and maintain accurate records.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and confidence learning HRIS, payroll, and benefits systems.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and follow-up skills in a deadline-driven environment.
  • A proactive, team-oriented approach and a genuine desire to support both employees and HR operations.
