Job description

Summary/Objective
The HP Indigo Digital Press Operator is responsible for setting up the presses to correctly run jobs, maintaining smooth operation during runtime to ensure quality jobs are produced, and keeping an orderly and safe work environment. Experience/certification on HP Indigo presses. Series 4 (10K, 12K, 15K, etc.) Indigo experience would be most preferred, but training opportunities are available for highly motivated applicants.
Essential Functions
  • Read job ticket instructions thoroughly and efficiently stage all materials needed for scheduled jobs.
  • Perform general maintenance routines to ensure equipment is ready to run at optimal level.
  • Place service calls and work with HP remote and on-site support to troubleshoot press issues.
  • Adjust settings on computer software for equipment specifications and quality needs.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure color continuity and quality expectations for all printed material.
  • Meet or exceed scheduled production timelines, focusing on uptime and efficient job staging.
  • Suggest and implement areas of improvement for operation efficiencies.
  • Maintain paper, press consumable, and spare part inventories to promote max uptime.
Competencies
  • Exhibits a safety-first attitude, from proper personal protection equipment compliance to keeping the work environment safe and hazard-free. Compliance with all workplace and safety standards is required.
  • Technical and mechanical experience in printing/operating, especially Digital printing or finishing preferred.
  • Keen attention to detail to verify all materials and product quality are correct.
  • Responsibility for work produced and problem-solving skills to fix errors.
  • Skills to communicate and relay information down the line that will affect quality.
  • Ability to stand and move around the work area for long periods of time.

Physical Demands/Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to remain in a mobile standing position for the full shift. Move and interact with equipment as needed; navigate safely through a production environment; operate, handle, or use objects, tools or controls; reach forward, up, and side to side; ascend/descend stairs; communicate and discern to exchange information and identify safety hazards. Vision abilities include – close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to distinguish color variations, and ability to adjust focus. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee may routinely lift up to 50 pounds with or without the assistance of others or material handling equipment.
Work Environment
The work environment is a fast-paced production environment where the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration and moderate to loud noise level.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
  • This is a full-time position with a standard schedule of 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday. Daily and/or weekend overtime may be required dependent upon business needs.
Required Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Digital Print experience preferred, but not required. (HP Indigo experience a bonus)
