Job description

Job Summary:

Maintain the entire property in the highest state of cleanliness, meeting Newport Dunes Resort standards. Administrates, coordinates, manages, and supervises the Housekeeping and Grounds personnel. Maintains the property as aesthetically pleasing, environmentally safe, and a guest friendly atmosphere.

Duties Include:

Overseeing the management of 2-3 supervisors and supervises 23-35 employees in the housekeeping and grounds departments.

Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of Housekeeping and Grounds.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Skills, Education and Experience:

  • Previous experience managing a team of housekeeping and grounds employees through motivation, coaching and development.
  • Perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Expertly perform the functions of a housekeeper and grounds.
  • Hotel/Motel, or Multi-Family property management experience.
  • Ability to effectively follow and issue instructions.
  • Ability to properly communicate with Management, Guests, Clients, and Personnel.
  • Ability and desire to learn and implement new ideas and skills.
  • Must be conscientious with good work habits.
  • Have and maintain a friendly demeanor.
  • Must be bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Knowledge and ability to utilize proper communication skills.
  • Skills in computer programs (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Associates degree (AA or AS) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
