FRONT OF HOUSE – JOB POSTING          

Tamarind is looking to hire an incredible Front of House team member to join our team! At Tamarind, we are passionate about bringing people together for wonderful culinary experiences.

Tamarind is a new, quick service restaurant in downtown Salt Lake. We’ve been open a little more than 3 years and have a large customer following! Be at the ground floor and grow with us!

HOURLY PAY

STARTING AT $14-$16 per hour (depending on experience) PLUS TIPS!!! Make

up to an additional $3 per hour with tips!

Job Type: Part-time (Need someone that can work evenings and weekend shifts)

Experience: Previous experience in a restaurant is preferred

As a Front of House Team Member, you will report to the General Manager/Managers/Supervisors. Tamarind does not have wait staff so our Front of House Team Member will be packaging food for to-go orders and bringing orders out to tables. You will get tips!!

SKILLS:

  • Must know and follow sanitation procedures.
  • Aptitude for multi-tasking
  • Knowledge of restaurant best practices and methods.
  • Communication and organizational skills.
  • Able to move safely and with urgency in close proximity to others.
  • Agility to wipe down counters, prep tables and all cooking surfaces and to sweep and pick up debris off the floor in all areas of the restaurant.
  • Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, and exert a well-paced mobility for periods up to 8 hours in length.
  • Food Handler’s permit

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must be able to work some Sundays.
  • Taking orders (if needed) and delivering food and beverages to the correct table.
  • Helping guests with menu recommendations.
  • Providing exceptional customer experience.
  • Prep sit-down orders and to go orders correctly and quickly according to Tamarind’s standards.
  • Proper use of checklists for setting up and closing down of line.
  • Stocking and restocking of line as business dictates.
  • Serves hot food hot and cold food cold.
  • Ability to work on several different orders simultaneously.
  • Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
  • Maintain energy and enthusiasm throughout shift.
  • Complete assigned opening, ongoing, and closing side work.
  • Works with a sense of urgency. Monitors ticket times and works with team members to ensure food preparation activities are executed in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain a safe, sanitary, and secure environment at all times.
  • Learning back of house tasks and becoming back of house support.
  • Preference given to candidate who can or willing to also do back of house.
