Job description

We are looking for an Appliance Install Helper to join our growing team!
At PDI, our goal is to always be committed to providing quality products with prompt, efficient, courteous service in all segments of our business. We pride ourselves in keeping flexibility of procedures and policy at the forefront so that customer needs are always satisfied.
Since 1973, we have maintained our position as a leader in the wholesale distribution industry and offer first-class service to customers in the residential and commercial plumbing industries, as well as home builders, interior designers, re-modelers, and homeowners. We operate 19 branch locations and 14 showrooms throughout Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina.
Function: Works with Outside Sales, Showroom Sales, and Branch Operations to install appliances sold from the branches.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Promotes PDI through courteous, efficient in-house customer service and outside customer service while always displaying a positive attitude.
  • Works in a professional manner to build customer loyalty and performs at a pace to meet our customer's needs.
  • Works with Appliance Installer to successfully install appliances.
  • Helps distribute and install display items for showrooms when available.
  • Will help uninstall old appliances and hall away, when appropriate, and assist with the installation of new appliances.
  • Will be responsible for unboxing and moving appliances into appropriate places for installation.
  • Make sure the space is free of trash and all protective coatings are removed from appliances.
  • Retrieves all tools used for appliance installation and cleans any debris left behind.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and uses time wisely.

Position Requirements:
  • High School Diploma
  • Electrical knowledge with the ability to install appliances.
  • Plumbing knowledge not required but preferred.
  • Strong problem resolution and reasoning skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability and flexibility to work extended hours when necessary to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Has the ability to read and understand electrical plans, specifications, and installation documents.
  • High organizational skills needed.
  • Ability to sit or stand for 8-10 hours and lift 75+ pounds.
  • All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
