Job description

We are looking for an Appliance Installer to join our growing team!
At PDI, our goal is to always be committed to providing quality products with prompt, efficient, courteous service in all segments of our business. We pride ourselves in keeping flexibility of procedures and policy at the forefront so that customer needs are always satisfied.
Since 1973, we have maintained our position as a leader in the wholesale distribution industry and offer first-class service to customers in the residential and commercial plumbing industries, as well as home builders, interior designers, re-modelers, and homeowners. We operate 19 branch locations and 14 showrooms throughout Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina.
Function: Works with Outside Sales, Showroom Sales, and Branch Operations to install appliances sold from the branches.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Install appliances sold through PDI branches and showrooms in residential and commercial customer locations.
  • Safely disconnect and remove existing appliances when authorized and appropriate.
  • Prepare installation areas and verify that the location is suitable for the appliance being installed.
  • Safely move, position, level, and secure appliances as required.
  • Complete appliance connections using appropriate tools, materials, and installation procedures.
  • Follow manufacturer installation instructions, specifications, and applicable safety requirements.
  • Verify that appliances are properly installed and operating as intended before leaving the job site.
  • Identify installation issues, site conditions, damaged products, missing components, or other concerns that may prevent proper installation.
  • Communicate installation issues to Sales, Branch Operations, or management and recommend appropriate solutions when necessary.
  • Ensure installed appliances are free of visible damage and that the installation meets PDI quality expectations.
  • Take required before-and-after photographs to document installation conditions and confirm that established installation protocols have been followed.
  • Remove packaging materials, debris, and other waste generated during installation.
  • Remove protective coatings and materials from appliances when appropriate.
  • Clean the appliance and surrounding installation area upon completion.
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and installation materials are collected before leaving the job site.
  • Leave the customer's home or business in a clean and professional condition.
  • Assist with the movement and installation of appliance display units in PDI showrooms when needed.
  • Work with Outside Sales, Showroom Sales, and Branch Operations to coordinate appliance installation activities.
  • Remove packaging materials, debris, and other waste generated during installation.
  • Remove protective coatings and materials from appliances when appropriate.
  • Clean the appliance and surrounding installation area upon completion.
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and installation materials are collected before leaving the job site.
  • Leave the customer's home or business in a clean and professional condition.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and uses time wisely.

Position Requirements:
  • High School Diploma
  • Electrical knowledge with the ability to install appliances.
  • Plumbing knowledge not required but preferred.
  • Strong problem resolution and reasoning skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability and flexibility to work extended hours when necessary to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Has the ability to read and understand electrical plans, specifications, and installation documents.
  • High organizational skills needed.
  • Ability to sit or stand for 8-10 hours and lift 75+ pounds.
