JOB OVERVIEW:
We're seeking a senior Business Applications Subject Matter Expert (SME) to serve as a cross-functional technology partner to business stakeholders and internal IT teams. This role is responsible for end-to-end oversight across a portfolio of business applications-anchored by Agency Management System (AMS) expertise in commercial P&C-while also driving process optimization, workflow automation, and platform change leadership. You'll evaluate operational needs, recommend and guide technical solutions, and help ensure high-quality delivery through development, testing, implementation, documentation, and advanced support.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
  • Experience working for an insurance agency or broker with a strong understanding of AMS systems, workflows, and scenarios typical in commercial property & casualty operations.
  • Highly proficient in improving processes and efficiencies using AMS platforms; strong preference for candidates who have automated workflows and partnered across other business applications and AI-enabled tools.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to learn and understand software systems quickly.
  • Strong professional communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills; enjoys providing top-notch service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive, outgoing disposition; team-oriented while also effective working independently.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
A detailed list of job duties includes (but is not limited to):
  • Applying subject expertise in evaluating business operations and processes.
  • Identifying areas where technical solutions would improve business performance.
  • Providing subject expertise and guidance to IT team members and the business.
  • Facilitation of change management for respective platforms.
  • Overseeing the development, testing, and implementation of technical solutions.
  • Determining whether technical solutions meet defined requirements.
  • Verifying technical reference information, including user guides, training manuals, and system requirements.
  • Ensuring accurate representation of expertise prior to the distribution of technical solutions to end-users.
  • Documenting processes and disseminating information to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Providing level 3 to 4 advanced support to our internal and external teams.
  • Providing mentorship and contributing specialized knowledge.
  • Recommending technical solutions and determining requirements.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
  • 10+ years of experience working in the relevant area of expertise.
  • Advanced knowledge of business operations and project management.
  • Advanced ability to recommend and implement technical solutions for cross-functional projects.
  • Knowledge of systems and software engineering to optimally integrate subject expertise in solution designs.
  • Exceptional leadership and mentorship abilities to introduce and implement technical solutions.

COMPENSATION:
The national average salary for this role is $120,000 - $150,000 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
