Job description

Residential Wireman Electrician – 4-Day Workweek | Crew Lead Development

Pay: $23–$27 per hour, depending on experience
Job Type: Full-Time
Location: San Antonio, TX
Schedule: 4-Day Workweek | Wednesday–Saturday | 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
License Required: Texas Residential Wireman License

About the Position

True Electric Services LLC is hiring a full-time Texas Residential Wireman Electrician to join our residential installation team and develop into the lead electrician for a two-person installation crew.

We are looking for someone who already has a solid foundation in residential electrical work but wants to continue developing their technical skills, leadership ability, and independence.

This is a growth position with a defined path toward Crew Lead.

Starting pay is $23–$27 per hour based on experience and current skill level, with the opportunity for increased compensation as you demonstrate the ability to independently lead residential installation projects and a two-person crew.

We don't expect you to know everything on day one. We do expect you to be dependable, safety-conscious, willing to learn, and someone who takes pride in doing quality work.

4-Day Workweek

True Electric Services is transitioning to a 4-day, 10-hour workweek beginning in early September 2026.

The regular schedule will be:

Wednesday–Saturday
7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
1-hour paid lunch
40 hours per week

That means three consecutive days off every week: Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.

Our current schedule during the transition period is Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

Occasional overtime or schedule adjustments may be available or required depending on project and customer needs. Overtime must be approved in advance.

Approved overtime is paid at 1.5× the regular hourly rate for hours worked over 40 in a workweek.

What You'll Do

You'll work with our residential installation team on projects including:

  • Panel upgrades and replacements
  • Generator installations
  • EV charger installations
  • Residential remodels
  • New and dedicated circuits
  • Outlets and switches
  • Lighting and fixture installations
  • Ceiling fans
  • Smoke and CO detectors
  • Bathroom exhaust fans and vent hoods
  • Electrical repairs
  • Troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Other residential electrical installations and improvements

You'll also be responsible for helping with:

  • Reviewing job scopes before work begins
  • Jobsite setup and cleanup
  • Maintaining an organized work vehicle
  • Before, progress, and completion photos
  • Accurate job documentation
  • Preparing work for inspection
  • Protecting customers' homes and property
  • Communicating professionally with homeowners and the office

Grow Into a Crew Lead

Our goal is to train the right person to become a Crew Lead responsible for independently running a two-person residential installation crew.

As you develop, we'll expect you to become capable of:

  • Reviewing and understanding the complete scope of work
  • Planning an installation from start to finish
  • Determining and organizing required materials
  • Material pickup
  • Directing and training an apprentice/helper
  • Assigning work efficiently
  • Maintaining a safe and organized jobsite
  • Ensuring work complies with applicable electrical codes and Company standards
  • Maintaining high-quality workmanship
  • Keeping projects moving efficiently
  • Communicating job progress and problems with the office
  • Communicating professionally with homeowners
  • Completing required job documentation and photos
  • Preparing jobs for inspection
  • Identifying problems before they cause callbacks or delays
  • Taking ownership of a project from start through completion

Advancement is based on demonstrated ability—not simply time with the Company.

Employees who demonstrate the technical ability, reliability, judgment, leadership, and professionalism necessary to independently run a two-person crew will have the opportunity to advance to Crew Lead with increased compensation based on the position and responsibilities.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Current Texas Residential Wireman License
  • Valid driver's license
  • Residential electrical experience
  • Working knowledge of residential electrical systems
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code
  • Ability to safely use electrical tools and testing equipment
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of residential electrical work
  • Reliable transportation to the designated reporting location
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers and coworkers
  • Ability to use mobile technology for job documentation
  • Willingness to learn and accept feedback

The Person We're Looking For

Experience matters, but we're equally interested in how you work.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Takes pride in quality workmanship
  • Doesn't cut corners
  • Takes safety seriously
  • Shows up on time and ready to work
  • Is dependable
  • Wants to continue learning
  • Accepts constructive feedback
  • Asks questions when unsure
  • Takes ownership of mistakes and helps solve problems
  • Keeps jobsites clean and organized
  • Treats customers' homes with respect
  • Communicates respectfully with customers and coworkers
  • Can eventually work without constant supervision
  • Is comfortable helping train and direct an apprentice/helper
  • Wants greater responsibility as their skills develop
  • Is interested in becoming a long-term member of the team

We would rather hire someone with a strong foundation and the right attitude and work ethic who wants to grow than someone who believes they already know everything.

Compensation

$23–$27 per hour, depending on experience and demonstrated skill level.

Employees are paid bi-weekly through direct deposit.

Approved overtime is paid at 1.5× the regular hourly rate for hours worked over 40 in a workweek.
