Job description

Job Title: Wire cut Technician
Department: Wire cutting
Reports To: Supervisor
FLSA Status
: Hourly
Summary:
This position is responsible for thorough cutting, stripping, and terminating (where applicable) wire to length using either manual techniques or automated/semi-automated equipment. Execute duties with a high degree of quality, with few defects and within the labor time requirements for the splices being executed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities.
• Understands and demonstrates safety as priority in all work-related activities.
• Maintains standards of a clean and organized work environment.
• Responsible for set ups of materials and equipment to ensure proper outcome is achieved.
• Capable of interpreting tickets, work orders, and shop orders to ensure correct outcome is achieved.
• Capable of identifying defective product presented to the work-cell as well as the outcomes of the work-cell.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma and/or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to apply logical reasoning to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and come up with reasonable solution.
