Position Summary
The Tier 3 Network Engineer will serve as a senior technical resource within our engineering team, responsible for the design, implementation, and advanced troubleshooting of complex network solutions. This individual must have extensive hands-on experience with Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Cisco/Meraki technologies, and be comfortable interfacing directly with both technical teams and executive leadership (including C-level stakeholders).
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement secure, scalable, and resilient network solutions using Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Cisco Meraki platforms.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex network issues escalated from Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 Support.
  • Provide expert troubleshooting for a wide range of network environments including firewalls, VPNs, SD-WAN, switching, and wireless networks.
  • Perform network assessments, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
  • Develop and document network architecture and detailed implementation plans.
  • Collaborate with project managers and client stakeholders, including presenting technical solutions to C-Suite executives in a clear, business-oriented manner.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical incidents as needed.
  • Mentor junior engineers and assist in internal knowledge sharing.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering roles, preferably in an MSP or service provider environment.
  • Strong expertise in Fortinet (FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer), Palo Alto Networks (NGFW, Panorama, Prisma, Strata), and Cisco/Meraki (ASA, ASR, MX, MR, MS).
  • Experience designing and deploying secure network solutions for SMBs and mid-market enterprises.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), VLANs, VPNs, NAT, and firewalls.
  • Experience with SD-WAN, cloud networking (Azure/AWS), and multi-site deployments.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve high-impact network issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to translate technical jargon for business audiences.
  • Comfortable presenting technical solutions and strategy to C-level executives.
  • Relevant certifications are strongly preferred (e.g., Fortinet NSE4+, PCNSE, CCNP, Meraki CMNA/ECMS).
