Class Summary
This is a part-time position with a maximum of 1,508 hours per year and is not eligible for paid holidays, leave, or benefits.
Job DescriptionThe part-time driver will be operating a sedan or bus to provide safe, reliable transportation for seniors and individuals with disabilities to and from medical and non-medical appointments. The driver will also be assisting riders as they enter and exit vehicles, including providing assistance with bags and mobility devices.
Essential Duties
  • Assisting with folding and storing walkers, wheelchairs, canes, other mobility devices
  • Escorting a rider to and from a building entrance reception desk or waiting area when necessary
  • Providing assistance with items (ex: grocery bags)
  • Placing telephone calls to riders regarding scheduled transportation trips
  • Utilizing scheduling software to manage trips and routes
  • Maintaining records and assisting with office duties when needed
  • Completing and updating trip and mileage records as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Other Job Requirements/Information
  • This job is a safety sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing.
  • This job requires fingerprinting.
Hourly rate
$15.75 per hour
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED AND
  • Valid Georgia driver's license
Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications
  • Experience working with seniors
  • Experience with professional driving
  • CPR/First Aid certifications (current or obtained within three months of hire)
