About the Position:
At River Road Early Learning Center, we believe the first year of life is one of the most important periods of a child's development. We are seeking a compassionate, knowledgeable, and nurturing Infant Teacher who is passionate about providing exceptional care while fostering each child's cognitive, social, emotional, language, and physical development.

We are especially interested in candidates with a background in nursing, healthcare, pediatrics, or infant care, as their knowledge of infant health, safety, and development is a tremendous asset in creating a high-quality learning environment.
If you believe every diaper change, bottle feeding, cuddle, and conversation is an opportunity to build trust and support healthy development, we would love to meet you.

What You'll Do:
As an Infant Teacher, you will:
  • Create a warm, safe, and responsive classroom where infants feel secure and loved.
  • Build trusting relationships with each child through nurturing, consistent caregiving.
  • Monitor and support developmental milestones in cognitive, physical, language, and social-emotional development.
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that encourage exploration and discovery.
  • Feed, diaper, comfort, and care for infants while maintaining positive, engaging interactions.
  • Encourage early language development through reading, singing, conversation, and descriptive language.
  • Observe and document each child's developmental progress.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom environment.
  • Communicate daily with families regarding their child's care, development, and milestones.
  • Collaborate with co-teachers and administrators to provide the highest quality care.
  • Follow all Virginia licensing regulations and River Road Early Learning Center policies.

Qualifications:
We are looking for someone who is:
  • Passionate about infant development and early childhood education.

  • Committed to providing exceptional care and building positive relationships with families.

Preferred Qualifications:
