Scope
MAIN FUNCTIONS
  • Provide guidance and technical support to the Reservoir Leadership Team in achieving performance objectives and maintaining high technical standards.
  • Develop plans and programs as required by the Reservoir Management Team.
  • Guide and support reservoir engineers in establishing and implementing plans that meet reservoir engineering requirements.
  • Build, run, and evaluate dynamic reservoir models.
  • Perform or guide detailed reservoir simulation studies to evaluate depletion strategies and investigate technical issues.
  • Perform or guide supporting studies involving pressure-volume-temperature (PVT), inflow/outflow, relative permeability, Special Core Analysis Laboratory (SCAL), and other reservoir evaluations.
  • Conduct depletion-plan assessments supporting asset acquisition evaluations.
  • Lead or participate in peer reviews to ensure technical standards are maintained.
  • Provide reservoir engineering input to drilling, facilities, and other groups supporting project execution.
  • Mentor less-experienced reservoir engineers performing simulation and related technical studies.
  • Document results comprehensively in written and graphical formats.
  • Provide timely, focused updates regarding results and plans to management, partners, and other stakeholders.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop project-specific strategies with the Project Team to address identified risks and challenges.
  • Support risk assessments and studies defined within the Project Risk Management Plan and ensure relevant findings are incorporated into field execution.
  • Support uncertainty-analysis studies and value-of-information assessments for data-acquisition plans.
  • Facilitate Reservoir Team meetings when required.
  • Perform additional services or studies assigned by the Reservoir Leadership Team.
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations.
  • Provide regulatory compliance support as required.
  • Maintain a high degree of ethical conduct.
  • Work effectively in an environment with changing priorities.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • University degree or equivalent required.
  • Approximately seven or more years of unconventional oil and gas experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in reservoir engineering positions within the oil and gas industry.
  • Exceptional knowledge of reservoir engineering fundamentals and strong technical capabilities.
  • Experience building, running, and evaluating dynamic reservoir models.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct reservoir simulation studies efficiently and address defined technical issues.
  • Ability to identify problems, develop solutions, and perform reservoir evaluations independently.
  • Working knowledge of reservoir management practices, processes, and expectations.
  • Ability and willingness to direct, guide, and mentor less-experienced engineers.
  • Strong initiative, judgment, and problem-solving skills, with flexibility to respond to unforeseen conditions.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within an integrated project team and develop productive working relationships.
  • Ability to communicate with and influence personnel at multiple organizational levels, from field workers through senior management.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of customer service, confidentiality, and ethical behavior.
  • Willingness to travel or live away from home for extended periods when required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English as required to function effectively within the Project Team.
  • Candidate must be able to perform the assignment without technical training, other than company-specific safety standards and procedures.
