Key Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities as a trauma-informed mental health therapist will include:

  • Conducting thorough trauma-informed assessments to evaluate patients' histories and needs, thereby guiding the treatment plan.
  • Developing, implementing, and adjusting individualized treatment plans that prioritize trauma recovery and the building of resilience.
  • Utilizing evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to facilitate healing.
  • Leading both individual and group therapy sessions to assist patients with processing trauma and developing effective coping strategies.
  • Providing immediate crisis intervention and support in situations where trauma-related emergencies arise.
  • Educating clients and their families on trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available support resources.
  • Maintaining thorough, confidential documentation in line with legal and ethical standards to ensure a high level of compliance.
  • Engaging in regular case consultations and team meetings to promote best practices in trauma-informed care.
  • Staying current with the latest research and methodologies in the field of trauma therapy to enhance service delivery.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role revolves around serving a diverse population of individuals who have experienced various forms of traumatic events. You will work with clients of different backgrounds, ages, and experiences, furnishing them with sensitive, personalized care that takes into account their unique circumstances. Qualifications

To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must possess:

  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure in New Jersey as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT.
  • A solid understanding of trauma-related disorders and the various treatment modalities associated with trauma-informed care.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and various computer applications to maintain effective documentation and scheduling.
  • Superb interpersonal and communication skills, complemented by a compassionate and non-judgmental demeanor.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging situations with poise.
Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, preferred qualifications include:

  • A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a mental health counseling capacity.
