Job description

Role Overview:

We’re looking for a high-energy Business Development Consultant who thrives on connecting with people and uncovering new opportunities to improve government and public service organizations.

In this role, you will serve as Everblue’s external representative—building relationships with public sector leaders, understanding their challenges, and connecting them with solutions that drive meaningful outcomes. You will collaborate closely with internal teams across policy, software, and training to shape impactful projects.

This is not a traditional sales role—there are no quotas; success is measured by relationships built and opportunities shaped.

What You’ll Do:

• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients—understanding challenges and shaping practical, impactful solutions
• Build and maintain relationships with leaders across state, local, and federal agencies
• Represent Everblue at conferences, industry events, and in-person meetings nationwide
• Identify where Everblue’s training, technology, and workforce solutions can support agency goals
• Partner with internal teams to develop solutions, partnerships, and proposals
• Stay informed on trends in energy efficiency, disaster recovery, sustainability, and government innovation

Work Location and Schedule:
• Remote-first, flexible work environment
• Travel required for client meetings, conferences, and site visits (approximately 30–50%)
Compensation
• The expected salary range for this role is $110,000–$120,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 3–5 years of experience in government relations, public sector engagement, or relationship-based business development
• Experience with proposal, grant, or RFP processes
• Familiarity with government agencies, programs, or systems
• Experience working with or within state government is a plus
Who You Are:

• A natural connector—energetic, personable, and genuinely curious about people and their missions
• If you’re the kind of person who can strike up a meaningful conversation anywhere—a conference, a meeting, or even on a plane—and turn it into a lasting relationship, you’ll thrive in this role
• Comfortable initiating conversations and building relationships in new environments
• A strong communicator with excellent follow-through and attention to detail
• Familiar with or interested in energy policy, disaster response, workforce development, or government operations
• Willing and able to travel regularly (30–50%)
• Mission-driven and motivated to strengthen communities and public institutions

About Everblue:

Everblue is a mission-driven, veteran-owned small business focused on improving careers, strengthening government processes, and advancing market transformation through technology.

We build solutions that help organizations implement programs, streamline complex processes, and meet regulatory requirements.
