We are actively hiring a Director, Software Quality Assurance - Personal Lines.

Your Role:

As the Director, Software Quality Assurance - Personal Lines, you will shape the quality strategy for some of our most important digital products and platforms. You will lead teams responsible for quality engineering, test automation, performance engineering, and continuous improvement across the software development lifecycle.

In this role, you will partner with business, product, engineering, architecture, and delivery leaders to ensure our solutions are reliable, secure, scalable, and aligned with customer and business needs. You will help create a culture where quality is built into every stage of development, enabling faster delivery and better outcomes for our customers.

This is an opportunity to influence enterprise-wide technology strategy, develop high-performing teams, and drive innovation in modern software delivery practices.

Your Work:

Quality Strategy & Delivery Leadership

  • Define and execute the quality engineering strategy for flagship enterprise initiatives.

  • Partner with business and technology leaders to integrate quality practices throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Represent Quality Engineering in planning, risk management discussions, and executive reviews.

  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product quality, delivery effectiveness, and customer impact.

  • Develop and maintain enterprise testing strategies, including functional, regression, performance, mobile, and non-functional testing.

Engineering Excellence

  • Lead the design and evolution of automated testing frameworks across unit, API, and user interface layers.

  • Promote quality-first development practices and strong collaboration between engineering and quality teams.

  • Advance automated testing, environment provisioning, and continuous integration and delivery capabilities.

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and streamline delivery processes.

  • Introduce industry-leading tools, practices, and technologies that improve software quality and team productivity.

Performance Engineering

  • Lead performance engineering teams responsible for validating application scalability, reliability, and resilience.

  • Use performance data and telemetry insights to identify risks and recommend architectural improvements.

  • Partner with engineering teams to optimize system performance and support long-term platform growth.

People Leadership

  • Build, develop, and retain high-performing Quality Engineering and Performance Engineering teams.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Technical Expertise: Strong background in system design, cloud/SaaS markets, and modern DevSecOps pipelines, including vulnerability management and audit compliance. Coding experience in object-oriented languages is highly preferred.

  • Systems Thinking: Advanced ability to analyze complex organizational workflows, isolate operational variables, and implement data-driven improvements that optimize cost and delivery.

  • Executive Communication: Proven success collaborating with and influencing senior leadership and executive stakeholders through clear, concise, and persuasive communication.

  • Operational Management: Experience managing organizational budgets, vendor relationships, and time-sensitive operational decisions in a distributed or remote team environment.

Education & Experience:

  • Leadership Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in a senior IT leadership role within a fast-paced environment, directly managing strategy, vision, and daily operations.

  • Agile Delivery: Minimum 10 years managing agile delivery workflows (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and utilizing enterprise tools like Jira to coordinate multiple cross-functional teams.

  • Education: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
