Job description

Operations Research Analyst
Remote | U.S. Citizenship Required | Security Clearance Eligibility Required

Why This Role Exists
The work we do has real impact, and the people behind it matter just as much.

D amp;G is seeking an Operations Research Analyst to support Federal Government clients by designing, executing, and interpreting mission-level modeling and simulation for complex logistics challenges. This position develops rigorous simulation scenarios for traditional heavy cargo and unmanned aerial cargo concepts, evaluates operational trade-offs, stress-tests network assumptions and constraints, and translates quantitative results into actionable capability gaps and return-on-investment (ROI) insights.

The role combines strong technical modeling skills with defense logistics knowledge to help government stakeholders understand where, when, and under what conditions alternative logistics concepts provide operational value.

What You Will Do

  • Design and execute modeling and simulation algorithms or tools in support of logistics use cases, with a specific focus on heavy airlift cargo and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) cargo requirements.
  • Develop and execute credible, repeatable simulation scenarios that directly address defined logistics use cases and decision questions.
  • Conduct comparative trade-space analyses between manned and unmanned platform capabilities.
  • Evaluate variables including payload capacity, runway independence, turnaround times, and overall network throughput.
  • Design and execute sensitivity analyses and constraint testing to identify operational vulnerabilities and tipping points.
  • Assess conditions such as degraded communications and denied runways to determine when UAS platforms gain or lose operational advantage.
  • Synthesize raw simulation outputs and analytical metrics into actionable operational insights.
  • Identify capability gaps and develop return-on-investment (ROI) narratives for government stakeholders.
  • Translate complex quantitative findings into decision-ready analytical products that clearly connect model outputs to mission impact.

What We Are Looking For

Required

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Operations Research, Mathematics, or a closely related quantitative field.
  • 8+ years of experience in defense operations research, military logistics analysis, or mission-level modeling and simulation.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Strong experience with discrete-event and/or agent-based simulation packages.
  • Experience presenting modeling and simulation results, capability gaps, or ROI analyses to Federal Government stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of modeling and simulation as applied to logistics concepts and operational decision-making.

Preferred

  • Experience modeling transportation, distribution, cargo, or contested logistics networks.
  • Experience analyzing manned and unmanned aerial logistics concepts or platform alternatives.
  • Master's degree in operations research, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.

Location

  • Remote
  • 10% Travel to client site in Washington, D.C. as needed.

Clearance and Eligibility

  • Must be able to attain a security clearance.
  • This role is restricted to U.S. person(s) (U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).

Who We Are
At D amp;G Solutions, people come first; our teammates, customers, and the communities we serve.
We are one of the fastest growing companies in the Washington, DC area and proud to be recognized nationally as a Best Place to Work. As an 8(a), Service Disabled Veteran Owned, and Women Owned Small Business, we bring ownership, accountability, and care to everything we do. Our teams are welcoming, collaborative, and deeply committed to mission success. We believe great work happens when people feel supported, respected, and trusted, and we work hard to create that environment every day.

What We Offer
Competitive salary | Benefits | 401(k) | Bonus and profit sharing | Flexible hours | Education reimbursement | PTO

Final Note
If you want to work for a company that cares about its people, contribute to a mission that truly matters, and be part of a team where you are valued for who you are as well as what you do, we would love to hear from you.
