Job description

Approximately 20 hours per week | Fully remote, US-based | Ongoing

$85 to $140 per hour

WHAT YOU WOULD BE PART OF

We are not looking for someone to produce financial statements. We are looking for someone who can read the ones we already have and tell us what is wrong with them.

We are a vertically integrated real estate development and construction company with a precast concrete manufacturing division, operating the full lifecycle from raw land development through construction to long-term ownership, with a rental portfolio and a real estate equity fund attached. Books that have to consolidate, a close that currently routes through our CFO, and a QuickBooks Online to Titan 3000 conversion landing this fall.

That is the job. Take the close, harden it, and give the CFO his month back.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN
  • The monthend close, end to end and unsupervised, to a date you commit to
  • Balance sheet and income statement review, delivered as a written error log with root cause on each item, not a verbal allclear
  • Multientity consolidation and intercompany reconciliation across every division
  • The written procedures for close and consolidation, so they outlast whoever runs them
  • Accountingside support on the ERP conversion: mapping, parity, opening balances
  • Highlevel reporting oversight on the property management books
  • Direction of an external bookkeeper, if and when the work justifies adding one
  • THE SYSTEMS YOU WOULD TOUCH

QuickBooks Online is the system of record today and Titan 3000 is where we are going this fall. Around them we run BuilderTrend on the construction side, AppFolio on the rental side, and HCSS on civil and site work.

We do not expect anyone to arrive fluent in all five. Current hands-on QuickBooks is the one thing we need from day one. Where you have not used a platform, we provide access and training, handled at a reduced onboarding rate rather than the full engagement rate and capped at 20 hours.

The reasoning is straightforward and we would rather say it out loud:

We are hiring you for accounting judgement, and time spent learning our software is not that. It is also the reason unfamiliar platforms are genuinely not a barrier to applying.

    WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • 7+ years in accounting, with 5+ of those in construction, real estate, or manufacturing. Any one of those three qualifies. You do not need all three.
  • QuickBooks, handson and current
  • At least one accounting system migration you personally lived through. Any platforms.
  • We care that you have done it, not which ones.

  • Real multientity consolidation and intercompany experience
  • Experience directing an external bookkeeper, VA, or contract resource
  • USbased, with either four hours of daily overlap with 8 to 5 Central or a
  • concentrated three-day week

    NOT REQUIRED

Titan 3000, HCSS, BuilderTrend, or AppFolio experience. A CPA. A four-year degree if you have the years. Precast experience. Any presence in North Dakota. Full-time availability.

If you are a strong fractional operator with two or three other clients, that is the profile, not a problem.

    WHY THIS ROLE STANDS OUT
  • Real ownership. You own the close, not a piece of someone else's.
  • A rare kind of variety: construction job costing, precast manufacturing, land development, rental portfolio, and equity fund reporting in one engagement
  • Direct line to the CFO and the owner, with no layers in between
  • An ERP conversion inside your first 90 days, which is either the interesting part of this job or the reason you pass on it. We would rather you know now.
  • A seat that stays fractional. We are not planning to convert this to fulltime and
  • then pressure you into it.

    RATE AND STRUCTURE

$85 to $140 per hour. We begin with a paid two-week initiation period on real deliverables, with no contract in place, so both sides can find out before anyone commits. On satisfactory completion it converts to a

90 day renewing engagement with a short notice period either side.

    ABOUT THE COMPANY

SiteWorx, Superior Walls of North Dakota, and Verity Homes operate together as a vertically integrated real estate platform managing the full lifecycle, from raw land

development through construction to long-term ownership, with precast manufacturing, a rental portfolio, and a real estate equity fund alongside.
