Job description

National Salvage & Service Corporation is an industry leading specialty contractor and a growing company with a day shift opening for a truck driver at its Birmingham, AL, facility. This is a five-days-a-week job, home every day. Time and a half for overtime. If you have an exceptional safety record, are self-motivated to meet deadlines, and looking for a driving career with benefits, this is the place for you.

DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Hauling railroad chips, metal and other material
  • Runs in Birmingham and surrounding areas
  • Able to work overtime in various weather conditions
  • Filling out daily paperwork using a smart phone, laptop or computer device
  • Working independently

Position-specific Competencies

  • Must have a Minimum of 5 Years Experience (Mandatory)
  • Completely and accurately fill out daily paperwork
  • Basic mechanical knowledge in order to make small repairs (change hydraulic hose, grease and lube, safety walk around inspection)
  • Follow all Safety Program, Policies and Procedures
  • Able to learn the basic use of a smartphone
  • Able to pass pre-employment Physical and drug test as well as random drug tests after hiring
  • Hold valid driver’s license
  • Class A CDL required (Manual Transmission) No Restrictions.
  • Physical Requirements: Lift, Push and Pull up to 50 lbs. Stand, Walk, Climb, Bend, Twist, Move Throughout the Day, Use Hands in Repetitive Motions, walk on uneven terrain, Repeat Same Movements, work comfortably in an outdoor environment, exposed to all weather conditions.
