Role Overview:
This is a seasonal position, you can use your winters off to travel, hunt, fish or for other activities you enjoy while your benefits continue year-round.
This position is responsible to safely and properly operate loader to feed conveyors, hoppers or load trucks. Will need to display a professional and courteous attitude with customers and team members.
Typical schedule is Monday - Friday 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM; Saturday as needed. Hours may vary depending on weather and customer demand.
DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)
  1. Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.
  2. Safely and properly perform maintenance (lubricating, fueling and cleaning) on loader. Maintain 3 points of contact at all times while performing maintenance activities.
  3. Safely and properly operate loader. Make sure bucket/attachments are lowered to ground whenever leaving the equipment.
  4. Load trucks with driver in sight to communicate and ensure safe loading procedure.
  5. Load trucks up to legal hauling weight limit
  6. Identify appropriate material to produce quality aggregate material per job specifications. Communicate with other personnel and make required adjustments to material blends.
  7. Maintain smooth, level haul roads
  8. Maintain contaminate free aggregate piles
  9. Inspect material - check gradation quality, oversize rocks, contaminants
  10. Keep pit floor smooth & haul roads maintained
  11. May keep concrete plant fed for maximum production
  12. Check for spillage on plant floor and clean up daily (assist with shoveling spillage)
  13. Check for worn out flashing on plant that could lead to spillage
  14. May maintain the left over concrete that is dumped out at the plant
  15. Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.
  16. Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc). Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
  17. Ensure OSHA, MSHA, EPA, DNR, lockout/tagout, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)
As a successful Loader Operator you will have:
  1. General education, grammar and arithmetic: GED or high school diploma or equivalent
  2. Ability to hold and maintain proper licensure in accordance with all state and federal DOT/FMCSA regulations
  3. Knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance
  4. Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime and some Saturdays
