Job Title: PeopleSoft Financials Architect
Location: Columbus, OH
Duration & Type: Contract - 1+ Years
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced PeopleSoft Financials architect with deep expertise in PeopleSoft Financials 9.2, specifically within General Ledger (GL) and Commitment Control (KK). The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of functional and technical skills, with hands-on experience in PeopleSoft development, integrations, troubleshooting, production support, testing, and cross-functional financial processes. This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, technical teams, and external system partners in a large enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide functional and technical expertise in PeopleSoft Financials 9.2, with a primary focus on General Ledger (GL) and Commitment Control (KK) modules.
  • Configure, maintain, and support ledger structures, budget definitions, accounting frameworks, and financial transaction processing.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex PeopleSoft Financials issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Support and maintain integrations across General Ledger, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Purchasing, Billing, and Travel & Expense modules.
  • Design, develop, test, and implement PeopleSoft customizations and enhancements.
  • Develop and support Application Engine (AE) programs, PeopleCode, and other PeopleSoft technical objects.
  • Utilize Application Designer for object development, customization, migration, and maintenance activities.
  • Analyze existing PeopleCode, Application Engines, and custom objects to assess upgrade impacts, retrofit requirements, and system conflicts.
  • Design and support integrations using PeopleTools, Integration Broker, REST APIs, SOAP Web Services, and related technologies.
  • Create and maintain inbound and outbound interface files with banking institutions and external enterprise systems.
  • Support enterprise application architecture and integrations between PeopleSoft and third-party applications.
  • Develop and optimize PS Queries, reports, and data analysis solutions.
  • Conduct research and analysis using PeopleSoft tables, records, and database structures.
  • Participate in requirements gathering, solution design, system configuration, impact analysis, and implementation activities.
  • Lead functional and technical design sessions, stakeholder meetings, and solution walkthroughs.
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation including business requirements, technical specifications, configurations, code changes, testing results, risk assessments, and alternative solutions.
  • Execute and support end-to-end system testing, including unit, integration, system, regression, and user acceptance testing.
  • Validate financial business processes including vouchering, purchasing, journal posting, accounts receivable processing, and related workflows.
  • Support production environments through incident management, issue triage, defect resolution, and ongoing system maintenance.
  • Collaborate with project managers, business users, developers, and support teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Participate in on-call support rotation and provide critical system support as required.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience supporting and implementing PeopleSoft Financials solutions.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with PeopleSoft Financials 9.2, including General Ledger (GL) and Commitment Control (KK).
  • Strong experience in PeopleSoft development utilizing PeopleCode, Application Engine, Application Designer, Integration Broker, and PeopleTools.
  • Experience designing and supporting REST and SOAP web service integrations.
  • Strong knowledge of cross-module financial processes and integrations within PeopleSoft Financials.
  • Proficiency in PS Query and PeopleSoft database structures.
  • Experience with production support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience leading functional and technical discussions in enterprise environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting large-scale Government or Public Sector implementations.
  • Knowledge of SOA architecture, file transfer technologies, and enterprise integration frameworks.
  • Previous experience with banking interfaces and external financial system integrations.
  • Project management or project leadership experience.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft upgrades, retrofits, and modernization initiatives.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to participate in an on-call 24x7 support environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced enterprise setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders.
