 Nemours Children’s Health, Pensacola is seeking multiple Pediatric Otolaryngologists to work in partnership with Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart. 

The pediatric otolaryngology position involves a comprehensive clinical experience with a wide variety of clinical roles and responsibilities, including inpatient, partial and consultation-liaison; in a dynamic and growing pediatric hospital setting. We provide high quality pediatric tertiary care to a wide service area. Our Department has full-time Audiology, PA, and RN support, and enjoys an industry leading electronic medical record.  We have an Academic affiliation with Florida State University College of Medicine and research opportunities exist for interested applicants.

Key Responsibilities.

  • Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and surgical treatment skills. 
  • Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
  • Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
  • Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested. Rounds with pediatric residents in area of specialty. 
  • Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
  • Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty including on-call schedule
  • Adheres, contributes, and develops clinical patient pathways to ensure a standardized approach to pediatric surgical medicine.

  • Studer Family Children’s Hospital is the region’s only children’s hospital and is a full-service pediatric facility including a dedicated pediatric emergency department/trauma center, 48 general pediatric beds, 10 Hem/Onc beds and a 75 bed NICU. The hospital utilizes the Cerner EMR.
