Automotive Technician B Level

$30–$38/hr + Bonus – No Weekends

Location: Gaithersburg, MD 20879
Schedule: Monday–Thursday (7:30 AM – 5:00 PM) + Friday (7:30 AM – 1:30 PM)
Pay Rate: $30 – $38/hr + Production Bonus (Depending on Experience)
Pay Type: Hourly + Tiered Bonus (Bi-Weekly Pay)

3-4+ Years of Professional Shop Experience Required

Position Summary

Promotive is hiring a B Level Automotive Technician for a well-established, family-owned shop in Gaithersburg, MD. This is a full-time opportunity for a technician who enjoys hands-on work, wants to grow their diagnostic skills, and values a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Enjoy a consistent Monday–Friday schedule (no weekends!), competitive hourly pay with bonus potential, and direct mentorship from ASE Master Certified owners who are actively involved in the shop.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on domestic, Asian, and light European vehicles
• Complete tire services, alignments, and general mechanical work
• Assist with diagnostics and troubleshooting under the guidance of senior technicians
• Follow established diagnostic and repair processes to ensure accurate results
• Conduct tune-ups, brake work, suspension, and basic drivetrain repairs
• Utilize digital vehicle inspections (DVI) and shop management software
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Collaborate with team members to improve shop productivity and workflow

Qualifications

• 3–4+ years of experience as an automotive technician
• Strong foundation in general automotive repair and maintenance
• Basic diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with alignments and tire services preferred
• ASE certifications are a plus (bonus incentives offered)
• Comfortable working in a team environment and taking direction
• Valid driver's license required
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly Pay: $30 – $38/hr Depending on Experience
• Production Bonus Structure Per Pay Period:
  • 60–70 hours: +$100
  • 75 hours: +$150
  • 80 hours: +$200
  • 85 hours: +$250
• ASE Incentive: +$0.50/hr per certification
• Medical Contribution: Up to $200/month
