Why This Job Is Different
Most sales jobs have you pushing products you don't believe in to people who don't need them. This one is different.
At Martin IP Law Group, you'll be helping inventors, engineers, and visionaries figure out how to protect their ideas — patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. Clients have something real at stake, and your job is to help them understand their options and take the right next step.
We're a small, close-knit IP law firm in downtown Evansville, Indiana, with a satellite office in Carmel, Indiana. One attorney, a growing support team, and a genuine commitment to building something great together. If you want a job where your work actually matters, and your growth is limited only by your effort, keep reading.
How to Apply
We do ask one small extra step — not to make your life harder, but because it tells us something important.
Before applying, find and read "A Message to Garcia" by Elbert Hubbard (it's short and free online). In your response to the "Why do you think you are a good fit?" question, include one paragraph — no more than that — explaining why you think we asked you to read it before applying here.
One more thing: Also in response to the "Why do you think you are a good fit?" question, write your last name and then your first name — both spelled backwards.
If that sounds like too much trouble, this probably isn't the right fit. If it sounds kind of interesting, we'd love to hear from you.
Compensation:$18 - $24 hourly
What You'll Do
As the Client Intake Specialist, you'll be the first point of contact for prospective new clients. Your day-to-day will include:
Meeting with prospective clients by phone and in person to help them understand their situation and their options
Following up with prospects who have — and haven't yet — engaged the firm
Opening new client matters and maintaining detailed records in our case management system
Managing your own appointment calendar to hit agreed-upon goals
Tracking and steadily improving your own conversion rates over time
You'll be trained on everything you need. What matters most is that you show up ready to learn.
Who We're Looking For
We're not hung up on a specific degree or years of experience. We want to hire the right person — someone smart, enthusiastic, and genuinely motivated to grow. That said, we'd love someone who fits at least three of the following:
You communicate exceptionally well — in writing, on the phone, and face-to-face
You have a track record of success in sales (any kind counts)
You're actively interested in building a career in sales and client development
You pick up new skills quickly and enjoy the process
You have experience in phone-based or high-ticket sales
You want a job that genuinely rewards creativity
You take constructive feedback well and use it to improve
You want to work somewhere people actually enjoy coming to work
You're energized by challenges, not paralyzed by them
You'll Thrive Here If...
You're a reader — books, articles, anything that makes you sharper
You take initiative and don't need to be hand-held through every task
You're a team player who leaves politics at the door
You believe results come from effort, and you act accordingly
You want to become genuinely excellent at what you do — not just adequate
This is a full-time position with a full benefits package:
Health, dental, and vision insurance
401(k) with a 3% employer match
Paid time off
Flexible scheduling
We want to find the right person and invest in making them extraordinary. This is a real growth opportunity, not a dead end.
