As a Senior Transportation Director, you will be responsible for a variety of projects, taking ownership from start to finish.

What are the core responsibilities for the role?
  • Manage and lead Horrocks design teams to deliver transportation projects.
  • Identify, pursue, and win new transportation engineering opportunities within the public and private sectors.
  • Develop and track scope, budget, and schedules for transportation projects to successfully deliver projects
  • Solicit and manage subconsultant engineering services
  • Interface with public and private sector clients including state and municipal agencies
  • Coordinate and conduct meetings with project stakeholders
  • Coordinate with office management and other project managers to share resources
  • Manage Quality Control/Quality Assurance activities per Horrocks’ Quality Program
  • Cultivate client relationships and pursue business development opportunities

Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineering license in AZ
  • 15+ years of Project Management & Business Development Experience
  • Preferred 10+ years of DOT experience
  • Demonstrated experience delivering transportation projects for DOTs, municipalities, counties, or regional agencies.
  • Willingness to work on projects locally or in workshare with other offices
  • Possess a proven history of meeting project deadlines and budgets
  • Solid written and oral communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with MS Office application
  • Experience with project accounting practices and systems
  • Knowledge and experience with Open Roads Designer, InRoads and/or Geopak, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other applicable software common to the field of transportation engineering
  • Experience in managing technical staff and project teams
  • Ability to manage several projects concurrently
