Job description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Athletics Director's responsibilities include expertise in Athletic Administration, the Hiring and Evaluation of Athletic Coaches, CIF Meetings, overseeing PE facilitators and programs, and any designated extra-curricular areas of the school.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The Executive Director shall define specific hourly employee minimum qualifications that shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
• Provide Christian and academic excellence in the leadership of the school.
• Implement the Mission and Vision Statements of Crossroads Christian Church & School.
• Lead with enthusiasm and charisma, driving the development of the athletics program.
• Commitment of time, energy, and effort in developing CCS's vision and program.
• Belief in the basic philosophy of emphasizing the core curriculum.
• Commitment to working with parents as educational partners.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of the developmental needs of learners in Collaborative 21st Century Learning environments.
• Ability to plan Collaborative Learning strategies within a cooperative environment with other staff.
• Actively attend Briefings and Debriefings
• Willingness to continue education through additional courses and training, workshops, seminars and staff development.
• Active participation in Department meetings.
• Focus on working closely with all school staff by providing any information regarding a learner's behavior change, attitude and/or classroom performance.
• Take leadership role in some aspect of Crossroad Christian School's development.
• Leadership abilities in areas that promote the mission of the school.
• A comprehensive educational vision that is consistent with the mission of the school.
• Familiarity with Collaborative Learning and 21st Century schools and the target population, technological facility, and management experience.
General Duties:
• Coordinate dates and times of matches/games with other Athletic Directors.
• Coordinate all practice dates, times, and venues.
• Certify all student athletes into CIF Home.
• Input all scores into CIF Home for each sport.
• Verify medical certification (ex. Physicals) for all athletes.
• Lead out hire process for all CCS Coaches.
• Verify Coaches are NFHS certified and background checked.
• Meet with City of Corona Recreation Department to coordinate facility rentals for basketball, volleyball, and softball.
• Attend City Council Meetings for any negations between CCS and City.
• Inventory all Uniforms, Equipment, and Apparel.
• Equip Coaches with all equipment needed for sport (Balls, gear, etc.)
• Fill out transfer forms for incoming learners into CIF Home
• Coordinate with other AD's to verify transfer eligibility
• Abide by CIF Blue Book for operations in all sports.
• Enter CBED information (Enrollment) for CIF.
• Submit CIF and League Dues.
• Submit Playoff Finance Form (Host or Away).
• Fill out official forms and send to each Assignor per sport.
• Confirm Referees and Payment through arbitersports.com
• Prepare all "fields of play" for each sport.
• Score Keeping, Clock Operating, and line judge for Indoor sports.
• Coaching duties for sports that do not have a coach.
• Paint lines for football field
• Maintain equipment for all sports
• Coordinate usage between PE classes and sports
• Oversee PE facilitators
CCS Summer Sport Camps:
• Work with CCS Marketing/Communications to create Registration Website for events.
• Coordinate volunteers for each camp.
• Create Schedule for camp (stations/games).
• Coordinate Guest Speakers for devotionals.
• Create expense/income spread sheet.
• Purchase snacks/drinks for camp.
• Maintain check in/out process for all campers.
• File waiver of liability forms.
League Coordinator/CIF Council Representative:
• Create League Schedule for all schools for all sports.
• Input Playoff Representatives from each sport into CIF Home.
• Input League CIF representatives into CIF Home.
• Attend all AD, Coaches, and CIF meetings throughout the course of the year (12 total meetings).
• Input League Participation for each school into CIF Home.
• Issue an official vote to represent the League in all CIF Council meetings.
• Verify records for each school into CIF Home (all sports).

EDUCATION
• Preferred, Bachelor's Degree in related field
• Preferred, Master's degree in specified field
• Preferred, 1 year of experience in School Athletics.
POSITION STRUCTURE AND LEVEL
Reporting: This position reports to the CCS Executive Director
Organization: CCS Athletic Department
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Able to open and close School Campus Facilities
• Able to keep the campus safe and protected from the public during school hours.
• Able to meet with staff, learners, and parents when dealing with behavioral issues.
• Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
• Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach daily.
• Able to perform general office administrative activities: copying, filing, delivering and using the telephone.
• Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
MENTAL WORK DEMANDS AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
• Regular and on-time attendance.
• Hours not to exceed 40 hours per week.
• Participation in at least two extracurricular activities throughout the year: Christmas Program, Family Fellowship Nights, Spring Program, etc.
• Be an active, regular attender at Crossroads Christian Church being obedient with time, treasure, talent, and testimony
• Attend in-services and professional development meetings as deemed necessary by the Administration.
