Job description

Implements the Family Service Program at Gethsemane/St. Patrick to ensure that Catholic families served by Associated Catholic Cemeteries (in office) are provided with information about the Catholic burial tradition, their immediate service needs are met, and they and their families are invited to pre-plan for burial arrangements. This is a 40 - hour per week position at the cemetery locations of Associated Catholic Cemeteries. Base with generous commission performance structure.
You'll enjoy a stable base salary plus an uncapped performance-based commission that rewards your results.
ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES:
  1. Assists families in the cemetery office during the arrangement time for the burial of the deceased and follow up to set appointments in the office with Family Service Program materials. Incumbent accomplishes this by following established policies and procedures for at-need arrangements, personalizing the Family Service Program materials, setting in-office appointments, making presentations, obtaining referrals, and following up with families in pre and post-need situations.

  1. Exhibits thorough knowledge of the products and services of Associated Catholic Cemeteries and the theology and history of the Catholic burial tradition. Incumbent accomplishes this by being fully versed about all information concerning products and services, the Catholic burial tradition, and integrating this knowledge into the presentations made to families.
  2. Makes personal sales to meet ACC revenue needs. The incumbent accomplishes this by setting and meeting personal sales goals in meeting, as a minimum, sales requirements established by ACC.
  3. Completes all necessary record keeping in a timely manner. Incumbent accomplishes this by completing in full all contracts, purchase related documents and other paperwork determined to be essential or necessary for the full implementation of the Family Service Program in a clear, legible and timely manner.

  1. Attends weekly sales meetings for the purposes of evaluating performance, generating new ideas/leads and giving input to sales materials. Incumbent accomplishes this by actively participating in the meetings, sharing new ideas and giving input to sales materials and assisting where needed.

  1. Is available to work and actively participate in all position related job functions. Incumbent accomplishes this by engaging in regular and dependable attendance on the job including arriving to work on time, by being ready to work when the shift begins, taking rest breaks and meal periods as required by ACC policy, and remaining on the job until the scheduled work shift is over.
  2. Contributes to the good public relations of ACC. Incumbent accomplishes this by projecting a positive image of ACC in all contacts with publics served.
  3. Taking committal services (also known as burial services). Incumbent accomplishes this by leading processions, being available for questions, working in conjunction with the Funeral Director if applicable, coordinating with the Grounds staff to ensure everything goes smoothly.
  4. Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Primary:
    1. Willingness and ability to support the mission of the Church by extending the ministry of the Archbishop.
    2. Catholic or Christian faith desirable for this ministry
    3. Ability and desire to use God-given gifts and talents in service of the local Church in support of the collaboration between lay and ordained Ministers.

    1. High School/GED.

    1. 3 years sales experience (cemetery preferred)

  1. Other Elements:
    1. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    2. Valid Washington State driver's license and automobile insurance.
    3. Personal vehicle.
    4. Spanish fluency strongly desired

Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
