Job description

Job Summary:

The Architect III - Cloud, DevOps, and SRE is responsible for partnering with many internal CareSource IT teams to design and implement critical outcomes in the Cloud, DevOps, and SRE domains intended to be leveraged by the Digital Solutions delivery teams. Additionally, expected to play a key role in defining and delivering strategies to help our Digital platform scale at a national level.

Essential Functions:

Partnerships

  • Driving strong partnerships with our internal Cloud, DevOps, Security, and Site Reliability Engineering organizations aimed at enabling the Digital Solutions delivery teams.
  • Demonstrate strong collaboration with Business & Product Leaders, IT Leaders, and individual teams within the IT organization.

Cloud Architecture & Strategy

  • Partner with peers within all Information Technology groups to promote architecture principles, standards, methods, and strategic direction for the enterprise.
  • Work closely with internal cloud experts to harden implementations of cloud services utilized by specific Digital projects.
  • Collaborate with Cloud Engineering/Platform team to build out cloud infrastructure templates for common service use cases leveraging Terraform.
  • Design and implement infrastructure and related tooling/processes to support blue/green style deployments.

DevOps Practices & Strategies

  • Work with internal DevOps team to coordinate on CareSource standards.
  • Follow standards to deliver necessary enhancements to existing pipelines and process automations.
  • Define and implement automated rollback strategies with Digital application owners.
  • Create valuable integrations between Agile product tool and VCS system to facilitate automated release documentation.

Site Reliability Engineering

  • Lead the alignment, strategy, and delivery of context-based Site Reliability Engineering to meet the individual needs of our Digital products.
  • Lead efforts to continuously improve/enhance Digital Platform reliability, scalability, and performance & report valuable metrics to leadership.
  • Collaborate with SRE teams to implement appropriate alerting, monitoring, incident response, and capacity planning.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience is required.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the areas of Application Development, Site Reliability Engineering, Systems/Automation Engineering, or Cloud Application Architecture experience required.
  • Direct experience in designing/implementing technically diverse application and infrastructure architectures within large-scale enterprise environments is required, preferably in healthcare IT.
  • Experience in many disciplines/areas of IT & Application Delivery including Cloud-based Application Design, Architecture, and Development, Event/Message Streaming Technologies, Monitoring & Observability Tooling/Practices, Relational & Non-Relational Databases, Frontend & Backend Development Practices/Patterns, Infrastructure Code, DevOps Practices, IT Service Management Principles, IT Controls Best Practices in a Regulated/Sensitive Environment, Test Automation workflows & tools. 

Competencies, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including excellent written and verbal communication skills; listening and critical thinking; presentation skills, facilitation skills.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with stakeholders at all different levels.
  • Ability to lead technical evaluations and conduct research & development in emerging technologies.
  • Ability to contribute code to get new initiatives off the ground.
  • Ability to jump in with a development team and contribute code when technical expertise is needed.
  • Tech Stack Experience (not exhaustive): Terraform Enterprise, Github Actions (similar CI/CD platform), Azure Cloud, Dynatrace, Splunk, Docker, Kubernetes

Licensure and Certification:

Architecture-level certifications from any major cloud providers, Azure Cloud certifications preferred.

Working Conditions:

General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time

Compensation Range:

$135,600.00 - $237,400.00

CareSource takes into consideration a combination of a candidate’s education, training, and experience as well as the position’s scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required for the role, and other external and internal data when establishing a salary level. In addition to base compensation, you may qualify for a bonus tied to company and individual performance.
