RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking an RH OpenShift GitOps (ArgoCD) Senior Consultant in Raleigh, NC.
Summary:
Our client is seeking a highly experienced OpenShift GitOps (ArgoCD) Senior Consultant to support enterprise automation initiatives across Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) environments. This consultant will help design, implement, and optimize GitOps-based deployment strategies while driving infrastructure and platform automation using OpenShift GitOps (ArgoCD). The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Kubernetes, OpenShift administration, CI/CD automation, GitOps methodologies, and cloud-native platform engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, implement, and manage GitOps deployment solutions using Red Hat OpenShift GitOps (ArgoCD)
* Automate application deployments, configuration management, and OpenShift platform operations
* Configure and maintain ArgoCD applications, projects, repositories, RBAC, and synchronization policies
* Develop automation solutions for OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) administration and lifecycle management
* Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using technologies such as Jenkins, Tekton, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar tools
* Collaborate with Platform Engineering, DevOps, and Application teams to onboard applications into GitOps-managed environments
* Troubleshoot deployment failures, configuration drift, synchronization issues, and cluster health concerns
* Support OpenShift upgrades, patching, platform modernization, and automation initiatives
* Implement security, compliance, and policy controls within GitOps workflows
* Create operational documentation, automation standards, and runbooks
* Provide technical leadership and best-practice guidance for Kubernetes and OpenShift environments
REQUIREMENTS:
* 6+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or Linux Administration
* 3+ years of hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP)
* Experience automating infrastructure and platform operations
* Strong expertise with ArgoCD and GitOps deployment methodologies
* Experience developing automation using Ansible, Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages
* Experience with Git-based source control platforms such as GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket
* Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines
* Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture, operators, namespaces, networking, storage, and RBAC
* Strong troubleshooting skills within containerized and distributed environments
* Excellent communication and consulting skills
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
* Experience supporting cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
* Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and security automation
* Experience with enterprise-scale OpenShift implementations
* Red Hat, Kubernetes, or Cloud certifications preferred
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
