Purpose of Position:


Del Monte Foods is the Foods Division of Fresh Del Monte, a global grower, producer and marketer of fresh, value-added, and shelf-stable produce. Del Monte Foods has a powerful portfolio of brands, including the iconic Del Monte®, Contadina® and S&W®. We are currently seeking a Digital Shelf Content Specialist.


Under the direct Supervision of the Manager Accounting, the Senior Accounting Analyst is responsible for managing and maintaining accounting processes in accordance with established corporate accounting procedures and policies, including 3rd party invoices, Bill of Material (BOM), indirect labeling operations, finished goods inventory reconciliations, and proper preparation of reports. This position is also responsible for maintaining standard cost systems for manufacturing operation, provides general ledger analysis, operations/financial analysis, Capital and Fixed Asset Management and 3rd Party location reconciliations. This position also serves as the primary verification source for Del Monte controls required to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).


Accountabilities:

  • Assists with preparation and submission of Capital Asset Requests (CAR) provided by engineering.
  • Develop cost savings estimates for capital projects, if necessary.
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly CIP account/reports vs Budget for management review.
  • Closes the CAR upon completion of the project and creates the Fixed Asset(s).
  • Maintains and distributes asset tags.
  • Maintains and reconciles Fixed Assets.
  • Oversees physical asset inventory.
  • Evaluates obsolete assets and inventory for determining status (sell, dispose, transfer).
  • Assists with cycle count/physical inventories.
  • Investigates cycle count variances and resolves issues.
  • Manages and reconciles Leased Assets.
  • Reconciles monthly lease agreements.
  • Create and maintain SAP BOMs and Recipes for Rochelle, 3PLs and repackers.
  • Reviews daily labeled production, component usage. Reconcile reasonableness to Traksys and BOMs in Rochelle.
  • Calculate and review variances for daily production for all label lines in Rochelle.
  • Determine if process orders were processed properly.
  • Reviews standard cost and actual costs for inaccuracies. Update, if necessary.
  • Settle and close daily SAP Process Orders for Rochelle.
  • Work with the production planner and the label line coordinators regarding any questions.
  • Create process orders for 3PLs.
  • Process production at the 3PLs and repackers.
  • Assists in preparation of monthly and fiscal year-end closing in accordance with corporate accounting policies and procedures to ensure accurate plant and regional financial records. Includes preparation of journal vouchers, review of General Ledger and Balance Sheets accounts.
  • Assists in preparing weekly and monthly reports, such as DC Metrics, Metrics Trends, KPI’s, Financial Review, etc.
  • Assists in preparation of Annual Operating Plan for Distribution Centers including 3PL’s.
  • Support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance activities by maintaining documentation and assisting with control testing. Assists with SOX-related internal audit procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
  • At least 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of SAP strongly preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Knowledge of Finance and Standard Cost.
  • Strong work ethic with proven ability to work with deadlines and commitment including occasional weekends.
