Job description

Position Title: Data Analyst

The data analyst will be responsible for importing, transforming, validating and modeling data with the purpose of understanding and drawing conclusions from the data in order to drive operational processes and decision-making business intelligence and data reports.

Responsibilities:

o   Perform data processing tasks and prepare data analytics reports meeting defined specifications.

o   Present data in graphs and tables as well as designing and developing relational databases for data collection and data processing.

o   Respond to requests for data retrieval, visualization, and investigation with minimal turn-around time.

o   Develop processes for standardizing raw data coming from different sources in a variety of formats, and support team members in cleaning and improving data quality.

o   Work with business analysts and data modeling staff to document data presentation requirements in collaboration with management staff.

Successful Candidate’s Attributes:

o   Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics or related field.

o   Must have strong analytical skills and an understanding of relational databases, data elements, and application software solutions to maximize data gathering and data analysis.

o   Strong foundational knowledge of probability theory, sampling distributions, and statistical modeling.

o   Extensive knowledge of Python and Microsoft Excel VBA programming skills, with the ability to apply these tools for data processing, analysis, and automation.

o   Familiarity with SQL or demonstrated ability to quickly develop SQL proficiency will be an important part of the data analyst role.

o   Solid organization skills, including the ability to make sound prioritization decisions and the ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments.

o   Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present information and collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

o   Able to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively in a team environment.

o   Demonstrates a strong interest in data and analytics and a commitment to learning new tools and data analysis methodologies.

o   Experience with machine learning techniques (e.g., classification, clustering, tree-based models) is a plus.
