Established in 1919 and traded on the NYSE, Standard Motor Products, Inc. Additionally, SMP provides customized solutions for vehicle control and thermal management products in diversified end markets represented by its Engineered Solutions segment.
Globally, SMP employs over 6,000 employees across nearly 40 manufacturing, distribution, and engineering facilities and offices located in North America, Europe and Asia. SMP sells its products primarily to automotive aftermarket retailers, program distribution groups, warehouse distributors, original equipment manufacturers, and original equipment service part operations in the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, Mexico, and other Latin American countries.
Description
The Special Markets Customer Service Representative will act as a liaison between the customer and SMP. This position requires a candidate that delivers excellent service standards and maintains high customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
  • Input customer orders received via phone, email, EDI, and customer portals
  • Communicate delivery schedules and shipments with customers via EDI, email, and phone calls
  • Provide commercial invoice and export documentation for customer requirements crossing international borders
  • Interface with production planners in achieving on-time customer delivery by communicating new and upcoming customer requirements
  • Analyze customer delivery ratings and scorecards
  • Process RGA, credit, debits, and denials
  • Manage customer orders for direct ship program
  • Facilitate expedites with the DC
  • Maintain heavy email flow

Qualifications/Skills/ Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Customer Service
  • Proficient in PC business applications such as MS Office. Word and Excel experience is required.
  • Must be capable of using AS/400 based system, J.D. Edwards experience is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Candidate must be team oriented with a stellar attendance record.
  • Self-motivated individual willing and able to take initiative as well as work in team environment
  • Ability to multi-task and perform tasks which are highly analytical in nature
  • Knowledge of MRP systems preferred
  • High degree of accuracy with numerical data entry
  • Experience with EDI based systems is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree a plus
