Job description

Hours: Monday - Thursday 5AM - 330 PM

We are seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Machine Set-Up Operator to join a growing manufacturing team in Addison, IL. This position is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating fabrication machinery used in the production of custom wire, tube, and metal products. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of machine operation, tooling, quality standards, and safety procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Set up and adjust manufacturing equipment for production runs according to specifications and work orders
  • Operate machines such as wire forming equipment, tube benders, presses, and fabrication machinery
  • Change tooling, dies, fixtures, and machine settings to meet production requirements
  • Perform first-piece inspections and verify product quality using measuring tools
  • Troubleshoot machine issues and make necessary adjustments to maintain efficiency and quality
  • Read blueprints, work instructions, and production drawings
  • Monitor production output and ensure parts meet quality standards
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and basic machine upkeep
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area following all safety policies
  • Work closely with supervisors and production personnel to meet production goals

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a machine set-up operator, machine operator, or manufacturing technician preferred
  • Experience in metal fabrication, wire forming, stamping, or tube bending is a plus
  • Ability to read tape measures, calipers, blueprints, and production drawings
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
  • Forklift experience is a plus
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic required
