Job description

We are STS Systems Defense, LLC (SSS), a government contracting and consulting firm specializing in technical support for federal agencies across the nation. SSD is seeking an Engineering Technician to support our ongoing mission supporting the U.S. Navy in Fallon, NV.
What You'll Do:
  • Assist the Contractor Logistics Service (CLS) provider and Government maintenance team in troubleshooting unusual and difficult maintenance problems associated with the F-16 A-D avionics equipment.
  • Provide proficiency training in the analysis and isolation of malfunctions in computerized avionics test stations and related support equipment/system.
  • Provide advice and assistance in the identification of an instruction on the use of special tools, handling equipment, developmental support equipment and associated test equipment.
  • Devise local informal training program designed to improve the quality of maintenance and inspection including advice in identifying needed training programs in assigned areas.
  • Render technical advice and provide consistent analysis to resolve unusual maintenance difficulties and recommend changes as applicable.
  • Provide assistance and advice to customer personnel in accident/incident investigations and preparation of failure reports.
  • Instruct and demonstrate good safety practices to customer personnel.
  • Assist with planning modification schedules and estimating time and cost.
  • Assist logistics with repair points of contacts (POC) as well as field level POCs for information and current events

What You Bring:
  • 3 years' experience in F-16 C/D avionics O-Level maintenance.
  • Experience maintaining APG-83 Radar, MIDS-J datalinks, HOBiT - Helmet Mounted Queueing, Automatic Ground Collision Avoidance System (AGCAS), Center Display Unit (CDU), APX-125 Advanced Identification Friend or Foe (AIFF), 3-D Audio, Memory Loader Verifier (MLV), software capabilities, wiring troubleshooting and ARC-210 communication systems desired.
  • Quality Assurance inspector experience desired.
  • Possess the ability to work independently without direct supervision to perform all tasks outlined in the work specification.
  • Possess a high degree of tact, diplomacy and the ability to work and cooperate harmoniously with military and civilian personnel.
