An Hourly Certified Radiology Coder is a medical coding professional who specializes in translating radiology reports and procedures into standardized medical codes, typically on an hourly wage basis. This role requires certification, such as the Certified Radiology Coder (CRC) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential, to ensure accurate coding for billing and insurance purposes. Radiology coders work closely with radiologists and medical billing teams to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and maximize reimbursement for radiology services.

Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and effective communication are crucial soft skills in this role. These abilities ensure accurate coding, maximize reimbursement, and maintain regulatory compliance in radiology billing processes.
