General Description
This is a temporary, as-needed, hourly position performing sub-professional recreational work in monitoring and supervising designated recreation programs(s) and instructing in a variety of recreational activities. The position reports to the Recreation Manager or their designee.
Essential Job Functions
  1. Performs clerical functions in registering applicants, posting notices, etc.
  2. Maintains equipment.
  3. May be required to assist with emergency support functions (ESF) in the EOC during emergencies or other related emergency duties.

Minimum Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  1. Knowledge of various recreation activities and programs.
  2. Knowledge of programs and activities.
  3. Ability to meet the public.
  4. Ability to plan, organize, and carry out daily and special programs.
  5. Organizational and safety skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  1. High school graduation or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
  2. Some recreation experience.

(A comparable amount of training, education, or experience may be substituted for the above minimum qualifications.)
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS
  1. Ability to possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS
  1. Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction).
  2. Acceptable hearing (with or without hearing aid).
  3. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
  4. Standing, walking.
  5. Driving.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
  1. Works inside and outside in various weather conditions.

All Temporary, Seasonal, or OPS Employees are required to participate in an orientation session to provide safety training while working for Putnam County.
