Job description

Overview
Conservice provides an intelligent, comprehensive, and intuitive technology platform for ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) management. We help organizations develop and implement ESG initiatives that provide an imperative to attract and retain capital, accelerate sustainable and responsible growth, and mitigate enterprise risk.
Conservice is looking for an analyst to join our Building Performance Standards (BPS) team. The BPS Analyst will work in the ESG Customer Experience department of Conservice and report to the BPS Manager.
Building Performance Standards (BPS) are locally mandated policies aimed at reducing the carbon impact of the built environment. These policies set energy or GHG performance targets that must be met and/or specify building improvements that must be made in order to avoid incurring significant fines. Conservice offers a service that supports our Real Estate clients' BPS tracking and reporting needs.
The Analyst will be responsible for ensuring the submission data is complete and accurate, making the submissions, and keeping the clients' records in Conservice's ESG platform up-to-date. This position will leverage streamlined processes, structured problem-solving techniques, and data management principles to drive customer value. The Analyst will work closely with Customer Success Managers and ESG Account Managers to support customer success.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following background:
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in a business field, a STEM field, or a Real Estate related field.
  • Demonstrable interest and passion for sustainability and ESG
  • Data management experience
  • Strong people skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Adaptability in a dynamically changing environment
  • Demonstrable experience working across functions
  • Ability to learn and assess customer needs and a variety of business operating models

Preferred
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in a project environment serving customers and/or internal stakeholders (e.g., external or internal consulting or similar corporate roles with a mix of day-to-day operations and time-bound project experiences is preferable)
  • Sustainability and ESG initiatives experience
  • Experience using Energy Star Portfolio Manager
  • Demonstrable experience working across functions
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience working with technology platforms such as ERPs, CRMs, or related niche technologies
  • Ability to learn and assess customer needs and a variety of business operating models

Key Responsibilities
  • Review utility data for completeness and accuracy, correcting as needed
  • Perform QA/QC of building performance and energy data to identify errors, inconsistencies, and data gaps
  • Investigate data issues and work cross-functionally with internal teams to identify root causes and develop solutions
  • Coordinate with data, operations, and client-facing teams to resolve issues and improve data quality
  • Submit client BPS information to jurisdictions
  • Create and update records in Conservice's ESG platform
  • Keep properties in Energy Star Portfolio Manager up-to-date
  • Support customer relationships by promoting and creating value through strong business acumen, problem-solving skills, and relationship-building
  • Develop effective actions and guidelines that enable process improvements
  • Work with internal Conservice leaders and teams to continuously improve company products and offerings to drive growth
